This is our first post on our new computer! Almost 2 weeks ago, our old old old computer crashed and burned and bit the dust. It also took with it over 5,000 photos that were destroyed. The photo files were even corrupt on the last few backups on our external hard drive. Most of these photos were the ones taken in the last year which included many of Sparky's puppy pictures. Mama was soooooooooooooooooooooooo mad!
Since Mama is part GEEK, she took the old puter apart, tore out the hard drive and hooked it up to the new puter to see if she could restore any of the corrupt data. No such luck! Gone forever. Luckily we could copy many of the photos from our blog this past year and facebook posts. So at least we have some of our favorites back.
We decided to post photos of our many flowering trees today. This year our trees have bloomed a full 6 weeks ahead of normal due to our mild winter. Now we must worry about the frost they are forecasting for tonight. We sure hope it doesn't hit as it would probably ruin the flowers & buds and many of the new young leaves on some of our trees. The bees have been busy pollinating our apple trees so we hope they will be ok.
First here are our Magnolia trees, a pink one and yellow one:
Next are the Redbud trees:
Now this is a closeup of the flowers when they first start to open:
And this is what they look like fully opened:
Here are some Canadian Geese that landed in our ponds a few nights ago:
Here are some pictures of the flowers on our Flowering Crab Apple trees and Apple trees:
We still have 2 more flowering Crab Apple trees just starting to bloom. So we'll wait to take photos when the flowers are open a bit more.
When we were walking around taking photos, three deer were sleeping under some of our bushes by the apple trees. We scared them, so they ran to the back of our land just behind the fence. We caught a photo of the Mama deer staring at us:

We are sorry to hear that you lost so many photos! But we are sure your Mama will love the new one and continue to do marvelous things with it.
Our yard is not as much fun as yours, but we do have some heirloom roses that the muzzer has been carting around from place to place and taking cuttings when we leave. Last year they did not flower, but this year we are quite pleased. Maybe we can get her to take some photos..hah!
You live in a magical place..we love all your pictures.

So very sorry about the picture loss. When mom gets about 250 pics on the camera SD card.. she Burns them to a CD. She doesn't trust a computer NOT to eat them.
BUTT I had never heard of an EXTRENAL BACKUP NOT working!!!
What a bummer that you lost so many pictures.
Your yard is absolutely beautiful! I hope the frost doesn't hurt any flowers!
Love ya lots,
Mitch
I hate it that you lost all of your pictures. Everything sure looks Spring pretty though!
That's terrible about losing most of your pictures. Mom is always afraid that will happen. She has backups on two external hard drives and still worries.
Beautiful trees. We just don't have nice flowering trees like that in Florida. Too hot.
So sorry to hear the news about all of your photos! That happened to us a couple of years ago, it was heartbreaking.
I love the pictures of your Redbud trees, beautiful!
Happy Easter!
