Zeek, the cat that we rescued in December is getting more use to his new home day by day. Sylvester our first Man Cat and Zeek like to snuggle up together in chairs, etc.
Here they are on one of the window perch benches. Sylvester is actually laying across on the top of Zeek, cleaning him.

Today Mama called the vet to talk about me Butchy. I'm still getting seizures almost every night. I had one again last night about 1:30AM. Not fun at all.
So.............
Today we increase my dosage of Phenobarbital from 1/4 grain twice daily to 3/8 grain twice daily. Then we watch for 2 more weeks.
If I improve, we keep tracking things for a few more weeks.
If I don't improve, then after the 2 weeks I must have blood tests done. My blood serum Phenobarbital level will be checked. If it is showing low, my dosage can be increased to 1/2 grain twice daily. If it is showing normal, then I might have to add another drug to my battle defenses against the evil Seizure Monster. Oh how we hate the Seizure Monster.

Mom thinks Zeek is really beautiful - in fact he almost looks like some sleek stuffie - what a gorgeous coat he has.
Poor Butchy, poor Mom - we can't believe you have to go through this all again. But you have such patience with the whole process. Hope the increase is all that is needed.

Oh but poor you, Butchy. I know that the vets tell us that having seizures doesn't hurt, but you must feel all strange and tired and confused afterwards, and I know your Mama will be very very worried. I do so hope the new medicine dosage does the trick.
We'll be waiting anxiously for an update.

We sure hope the medicine gets worked out properly. It took Mommy and the vet about two years to get my big sissy meds just right. She eventually went on to only take KBr. Good luck, and I hope that mean monster stays away.

Seeing Zeek and Sylvester together is such a perfect example of the Love within your Family. We know that Butchy couldn't have a better group of two and four-leggeds to help him with this (lousy) battle. Zeek & Syl have that grooming thing down pat. Hootie must be part cat, 'cuz he is ALWAYS licking his paws and legs. Quite irritating actually...at least he doesn't try it on me(BRD)!
We feel horrible about Butchy. What is it with this Seisure Monster anyway? He is such a creep. We'll keep paws crossed for Butchy.
