UPDATE ON BUTCHY'S SURGERY

Katie here again. Butchy is home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for their Prayers and Power Of The Paw! It worked again.

Butchy's 3 lumps were in fact Lipoma Tumors - fatty tumors. They are usually soft, well defined, and subcutaneous (under the skin). Lipomas are variable in size and shape and may occur anywhere, although they are commonly found on the ventral (under) surfaces of the chest and abdomen. Butchy's were harder then usual since they were attached to his muscle. Luckily they were not down inside of the muscle. So his wounds will heal more quickly.

The tumors have been sent to be tested to make sure they are benign. These type usually are, but our vet wants to be sure of this. He gets his stitches out on the 15th.

Butchy also had blood work done again to check kidney functions. Last Spring he had one test that was showing on the high side. This time the test was normal. Yippeeeeeeeeeee!

Butchy weighs 19.5 lbs. So his weight is keeping pretty steady for a 10 year old that has hypothyroidism. He is on a pretty strict diet to keep his weight in check.

Guess I better get back to helping the Wirey Nurses take care of Butcho. I need to learn as much as possible so that I can attend Agatha's nursing classes. I want to be a Wirey Nurse too!
