Now to some hoomans this may seem silly, but you know that our Koi are our pets too. Well Koi Agatha needs your prayers now.
This morning Papa went outside and a #)$(*)#(%& MONSTER BIRD ( aka Great Blue Heron ) had Koi Agatha in it's nasty beak. The heron was startled and so it dropped Koi Agatha onto the hard rocks outside of the pond by the bridge. OH MY DAWG!!!
Mama is freaking of course, she grabs a hooooge net and puts Koi Aggie into it and sets her into the water. Then she gets a hospital tank set up for her. Poor Koi Aggie, she has MAJOR wounds. Mama has the tank set up inside of the garage. Aggie is about 10 inches long, so if we can get her to survive the night, then Mama will set up a 110 gal. tank for her in the garage. We don't want to post a picture at this point as it would be very gross. Mama is confident that if we can get Koi Aggie through the night, she has a good chance of recovering.
What a bad time for this to happen too, Papa & Mama's friends are all coming over tonight for grilling and sitting out by the fire. Mama will not be in a happy mood.
SO PLEASE PRAY FOR KOI AGGIE!!!!!

A pet is a pet no matter what kind and we know how special all those koi are to your family. Our Mom was showing all your posts about them to our human brother's family in California when they were out visiting them. They have a small koi pond in their yard with just two beautiful koi in it. We send our best for Aggie to heal well.

We are sending purrs that Koi Agatha pulls through. We likes Blue Herons (we has them visit our pond) but we are sorry one tried to eat Agatha. Mommy had thought about having a Koi pond but she wandered how to keep the birds out of it.
Sending all our vibes with full strength to poor Koi Agatha. She must be so upset and confused and mom is likely very stressed. It is good that there is a hospital tank for Agatha to rest in. We will be thinking of her and hoping she gets through the night OK. She is a big, strong girl.

My sisters and I are all purring for little Agatha, poor little sweetie.
We are so purring and praying for Koi Aggie! We understand that although she is a fish she is still a pet - our mom had a goldfish growing up that got sick and it made her as worried as if it were one of us - you love them because they are your pet and your friend. So even though we are kitties we are sending her lots of purrs to get better!
And we hope you are all doing ok - we heard about a dam breaking in Iowa and we hope you are not in the path - we know there was lots of flooding from the nasty rains - we got a lot here too (we are in IL) and that dam breaking won't help matters.

We've been away at camp for a few days, so we just saw this. While we were away, our humans visited one of Florida's unique attractions where they have a reflection pool with lots of koi. We fed them, and thought of you.
We hope by now that Koi Agatha is doing better -- and we are so sorry, since we have our virtual heron-cam -- who was with our humans all weekend -- that your monster heron gives a bad name to all of his breed.
