OUR 500TH POST!

Hey Pals,

It's time to celebrate! We've reached our 500th post. We can hardly believe it. We were hoping to hold out for this post to have confirmed news that Snickers would be out of the woods with her illness, but it looks like it's going to be a waiting game for a few months yet. And we can't wait that long to post.

So what better news to report then to let everyone know that Jake & Fergi have suggested we make 'WORLD WIDE MOMENT' an annual event! Isn't that great news??

Here is a copy of their post announcing the big event:

Let's Do It Again!

Well.

In our humble opinion
The Worldwide Moment
was
so Special
so Powerful
so Affirming
so Confirming
so Supportive
and
So much of an Example
of the huge quantity of Love that exists
among all the doggies and kitties
and (who knows?)
hamsters and gerbils
bunnies and teddy bears
and all the other four legged creatures
All around the World

That we're suggesting making it
An Annual Event.

So
We've created a Countdown Timer
and put it on our sidebar

Same Time
Same Place
(Wow! That means All Around the World!)
Next year!

And while this year
the event was initially promoted
because of our concerns
regarding one of our very very special friends
It developed
(Rightfully and Thankfully so)
to include all the furries and fuzzies
and their families
that were needing some extra Support
and Love
for whatever the reason.

Next year
By design
the Worldwide Moment
Will be to send loving and positive energy
to ALL
who need it.

Specifically, to all of our Friends.
Those we've met
and those we have yet to meet.

So.

If you want to put the Countdown Timer on your Sidebar
Grab it (if you can)
or
Email us for the HTML
and then
Pass it around to whomever might want it
By inviting them to grab it and post it as well.

If you'd like
Grab the Circle of Paws image too.

Tell those that may be new
or who may have missed this year's event
All about it.

And
as the time gets closer
We'll put a Shout-Out
and
Spread the word
Once again.

In the meantime
See if you can catch remnants of the Love
on the breeze.

All it takes is stopping briefly to remember
How powerful that moment was
And to know that that kind of power
Doesn't quickly die.

It's still there.
Surrounding us ALL.

Once again.
Thanks Everydoggie
Everykittie
Everyone
For making this so Special

Love

We hope everyone will join us next year for the big event! It's so pawsome to see how many humans and furry kids connect together for each other from all over the world. We have been blessed to have so many of you praying for our girl Snickers. We just know your prayers are working. The lymph node swelling has gone down tremendously in her neck & chin, but there is still a little swelling. This might take some time to go away totally. We must still wait a few weeks to see if any swelling comes back, but Snickers promises everyone that it's not going to happen! Her tough terrier spirit is not going to let go and she will fight with everything she has got! She's already shown that to us before, more than once! So we know she will win this battle.

So please tell everyone about next year's event so that everyone can join in. May the POWER OF THE PAW be with you.

WORLDWIDE MOMENT FOR SNICKERS

MONDAY UPDATE ON SNICKERS 16NOV09

Hey Pals,
It's me Butcho. I know many of you are wondering how she is, so I thought I better squeeze in another update on our 499th post. Snickers had her vet appointment today. She was very tired and just laid on the floor there. This was because she didn't get any sleep last night. She panted all night, and was awake the entire night, along with Mama. The Prednisolone does this to dogs & hoomans alike.

Things are still looking good for her. She has gained back 2 of the 3.4 lbs. she lost, although some of it could be water weight due to being on such high doses of the Prednisolone. There is still some swelling of the lymph nodes, more so on the left side of her neck, but the size is very very small compared to what it had been. The right side is almost back to normal size. Her body temperature is actually 101.2 today, which is NORMAL! She will be staying on both antibiotics for the time being, could be as long as 6 more weeks. Since she is doing so well, she won't need to go every other day to the vet for checkups. She goes back on Nov. 25th, unless there is a setback, which IS NOT going to happen!

The Power Of The Paw has made it's mark and nothing is going to stop the power of everyone's prayers. We were so excited to hear that our friend Max had good news with his surgery today. We know his family is probably so thrilled right now. So rest up Max and have a speedy recovery. You can see the update on Max over at Petey's blog.

Time to go see if I can sneak the rubber chicken away from Snickers. If she is sleeping, I might just get away with it, tee hee!

Wirey Hugs,
Butchy

UPDATE ON SNICKERS 15NOV09

Hey Pals,
We wanted to let you know how Snickers is doing today. Her swelling is really down in size, but the poor girl had another seizure today. The antibiotics lower the seizure threshold, so we're sure that's why she is getting them now. She had gone 57 days without having any seizures, but has now had 2 since taking the antibiotics. Such a bummer for her. But she still plans on beating this thing. Time to tuck her in for a nappy. She is always tired after a seizure.
Wirey Hugs,
Butcho

We are so fortunate to have so many caring loving friends all around the world. We truly know the prayers are working. After having her seizure when she came home from the vet visit today, she has walked around our land 2 whole times this afternoon. She hasn't done this for many days. It really is a good sign. She ate all of her lunch and supper. She still can't open her mouth very far for chewing, so we soak her kibble and give her lots of soft foods. She needs to gain back the 3.4 lbs she lost in the last few days. We would love to write to every one of you that has left us emails, comments, etc., but there are so many we would never get through all of them. It is astounding! Snickers really is feeling all of the love you are sending her way.

We hope that everyone will join us tomorrow for this wonderful minute in time. By the way, this is our 499th post on our blog. Mama is hoping to hold off a few days now before updating our blog again. She would really love for our 500th post to be the successful news of Snickers defeating this cancer monster once & for all. She will be seeing the vet on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. We feel that if the swelling of Snickers' lymph nodes is still down on Wednesday, she may have licked this thing with everyone's prayers.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!
Luv & Wirey Hugs,
Butchy, Linda, Dan, Ruby, Sylvester, Scuby & SUPERGIRL SNICKERS

I'M SUPER TERRIER!!!!

It's ME, SNICKERS!

I'm alive, I'm alive, all of your prayers are working!!! Mama says I'm the toughest terrier in the whole world! I'm fighting off this evil cancer monster, pushing him right out of my body.

None of us slept last night, as I was so terribly miserable. I had my bags packed, ready to travel to the rainbow bridge. I even sent my luv Gussie a goodbye letter. BUT, the Circle Of Paws helped save me.

As some of you know, I was really going downhill the last few days. We suspect I have Lymphoma Cancer. The only way to know 100% sure if this is the case, is to give me biopsy surgery. But, I am very high risk for the surgery with my condition and even the vet thinks I would not make it through, so we opted not to do surgery. I'm on several drugs to try to reduce the lymph nodes. I was unable to eat or drink for awhile because the swelling was so bad and I lost 3.4 lbs. in 3 days. My very high fever did a total reverse & went way too low yesterday. I didn't have bowel movements for 2 days, but FINALLY very late last night I had one.

I went to the vet early this morning to be checked out and if there was not a major improvement in my condition, I would then head to the bridge. My dawg, Mama, Papa & the vet couldn't believe it. I was doing my wiggle butt terrier dance down the hall, doing it in the exam room, jumping up all over the vet wanting to play. He was in shock! So we decided to do more xrays. All of my organs are still ok. If I do have the cancer, it has not spread past my head yet.

Now I'm begging all of you to help me jump the last hurdle I need to make to recover. I know I need all of your help. I will be going to the vet every other day to be checked out and if the swelling continues to go down, it needs to STAY down for good. If it does, then this means I had some type of nasty bacterial infection that we can't identify. I will then stay on antibiotics for at least another 6 weeks. I will also need to pig out on food, so that I can gain some weight back. I am very anemic right now.

But if the swelling comes back within the next 3-5 days, then my days are definitely numbered, as this would verify that I do have the cancer. My parents would then help me to the bridge before my condition gets nasty as most dogs live only 4-6 weeks past the diagnosis of this cancer.

I must have used every drop of Terrier Zen that I had, cause I just had a nasty seizure. Mama says I'm fine, but she's on an emotional roller coaster ride!

We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all of your prayers. We know I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for all of you. I am so blessed to have so many friends all over the world praying for me.

Luv & Wirey Hugs,
Super Snickers

SYLVESTER SUNDAY!

Hey Pals,

It's me Sylvester.

I must tell you how wonderful I am and how I gave Mama the most wonderful prezzie last night.

You see, whenever I can't find Mama, I sit on the main floor between the kitchen & great room. Then I make these strange noises, sounds kinda like Wooooooorrrr Reeeeeee! I keep doing this until Mama hears me & talks to me. Then I know where her voice is coming from, then I run to the room she is in.

Well last night, I started doing my weird call, except I was doing it extremely LOUD!

Mama started answering me, but I just kept getting louder & louder. Mama was up in the loft, so she FINALLY decided to look down over the railing to see what I was up to.

I was laying on the rug where I usually call her from, but she noticed this fuzzy long skinny thing sticking out of my mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EIIIICKKKKKKKKK!!!!

She knew right away what it was. She come flying down the steps, and she told me to DROP!!!!

So I did like a good boy. (see she has me trained to drop things on command)

Then what does she do??? She grabs a paper towel & carries off my prize, then proceeds to throw it outside of the back door. Hmmmmmph, can you believe her??? Throwing out the prezzie I brought her???

This is what the prezzie is:

Yep, Mr. Mouse. I found him in the basement. Mama told me she threw him outside so that the 3 wild cats that have been hanging around can have a meal. But did they eat this scrumptious morsel??? Nope, it's still laying there. Hmmmmm, maybe I should go BBQ it on the firepit. I could invite Teka Toy over. I know she would luv bbq mouse! Doesn't that sound yummy??? hehehehehe! ( I hope no one fainted at the site of this thing, tee hee!)

Ok, back to more important things. Miss Snickers is doing much better today. The swelling is going down in her neck/face area. Her fever is gone now. She walked around the land some today which is good, cause yesterday she still really didn't want to walk around at all. She is on the Baytril for 10 days so now we just have to keep our paws crossed she doesn't get a seizure. This drug lowers the seizure threshold, so it could trigger one. Her ticker clock is doing so well, we sure hope it keeps going, kinda like the ENERGIZER BUNNY!!!

Guess I better go back to laying in the window, I'm watching Papa cut up wood. He'll be busy chopping wood all day long.

Purrz & Licks,
Sylvester

UPDATE ON SNICKERS

Hey Pals,

Just a quick update tonight on Snickers. Mama is totally wiped out from worrying & taking care of Snickers, so she needs to sleepy. Snickers' fever was back again this morning so the vet got her in sooner then planned. Poor girl has swollen lymph nodes on both sides of her face and neck. The right side was much much bigger then the left so we didn't realize the left was also swelled. She has no other lymph nodes swollen in her body which is good, no need to worry about something cancerous. We didn't know a doggy could have eggs on the sides of the neck, hehehehe. That's what they feel like, totally huge. The vet was even surprised they were so big. Everything else on her checks out good, lungs, no more sinus infection, heart, toofies, eyes, ears, etc.

So since she just has the swollen nodes with a fever, it boils down to some kind of bacterial infection of UNKNOWN cause. It is possible that maybe it started from the sinus infection OR those nasty tick bites that she had in the last few weeks. Hmmmmm, do ya think it was a Lacie tick???

Or the Mango tick???

Nahhhhhhhh, they wouldn't even hurt a flea, hehehehe. Little Snickers was so happy to get to the vet's office. She was her wiggle butt self until after she was weighed, then she plopped down in the middle of the hallway to sleep. The vet gave her a steroid shot to start getting the swelling under control fast. Then she is on the antibiotic Baytril for 10 days to get rid of this nasty thing. Baytril is a stronger, better drug for these types of bacterial infections. We sure hope it works it's magic. Snickers has been sleeping in her bankies since we came home, besides drinking a gazillion tons of water cause she's so hot from the fever and the good thing is that she still has her appetite and is eating her meals.

Thanks for all of your kind words for her. Hopefully by Monday we'll start to see a big improvement in her swelling & fever.

SNICKERS IS A PUMPKIN HEAD

Hey Pals,

Just wanted to let you know that Snickers is going into the vet tomorrow to get checked out. This morning she woke up very sick, not wanting to lift her head, eat, go out to potty or anything. Later Mama took Snickers' temperature and it was 103.9. Whew! No wonder she was drinking water like a horse.

Then at lunch time, she ate her WHOLE lunch! Didn't even leave me any crumbs. So we checked her temp again and it was down to like 102.4. Then tonight she ate all of her supper and her temperature is back to NORMAL. Now what's up with that???

Well then Mama was checking her out while giving her a bath and discovered Snickers' has swelling under her chin close to her neck, and it goes up and around her jaw and side of head. It's HUGE! like MANGO HUGE! It doesn't seem to hurt her, but she does look kinda funny, hehehe. Mama has picked & poked her all over checking her out. She doesn't even flinch. Even checked out her toofies and tongue. So we wonder if a tick bite did this to her or if she has a bad toofie.

So another trip to the vet and another day poorer. Mama feels so bad for the poor girl, but she is actually acting great tonight, playing and running around having fun. The total opposite from this morning. So we're stumped. Hmmmmph, wonder what the vet will find......

We'll keep you posted.

TEDDY BEAR FACELIFTS

Hey Pals,

Some of our stuffies & wheely kids got together with me Butchy up here in the loft to bring you this special news bulletin:

TEDDY BEAR FACELIFTS is now OPEN!

Yep, Mama finally has her new web site open for business. She still has tons of items to load for sale including some antique German & American Teddy Bears, Boyds Plush Moose, Sheep, some Boyds Bears Resin pieces, Field Puppy collector plates by Lynn Kaatz, Mary Rhyner-Nadig 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' Enesco collection pieces, some TY plush animals, and lastly some of the new Mutton Hollow Critter mohair teddy bears.

The Mutton Hollow Critters are brand new antique style mohair teddy bears and animals designed and handsewn by Mama herself. There are currently 3 teddy bears just about ready for adoption. Remember Clone Clacie??

and Brownie??

They are some of the first Mutton Hollow Critters. You can always special order your own Mutton Hollow Critter or purchase the animals that are already made and ready for adoption. Besides making these new creations, she also has her restoration and repair services listed on the site. Remember these guys??

Bentley:

and Scruffy II:

well there are many more animals that have been repaired at the Teddy Bear Facelifts Hospital (formerly known as Snitchybug Dog Hospital). Here is a brief description of the repair services:

Does your mohair teddy bear or animal need surgery? or possibly a day in the spa? a tummy tuck? facelift??

Well then Teddy Bear Facelifts is the place to bring them.

Teddy Bear Facelifts provides the very best services for your mohair teddy bear or animal.

Located in America's Heartland, the Teddy Bear Facelifts Hospital is nestled in Mutton Hollow on the outskirts of Janesville, Iowa. All of our patients receive the utmost personal attention and loving care.

The hospital is in a SMOKE-FREE environment.

Upon arrival, all bears and animals are treated to a two week hibernation sleep in the deep freeze to eliminate any moth eggs or unwanted creatures.
All animals will then spend a day at the Teddy Bear Facelifts SPA receiving a relaxing bubble bath treatment and cleansing.
Then your animals are thoroughly inspected and all necessary repairs and materials are listed to insure everything is ready for surgery day.

All treatments and surgeries are guaranteed non-painful, no anesthetics or painkillers are used. Your animal is conscious throughout the process.

After surgery, all animals are brushed and fluffed and packed safely for their return trip home.

The antique and vintage teddy bears that Mama sells have all been rescued by her for cleaning, repairs, or restoration. She then puts them up for adoption so that they can have a new forever home. Many of the bears are 70 some years old and have really enjoyed spending a day in the Teddy Bear Facelifts SPA.

So please be sure to visit Teddy Bear Facelifts often as Teddy Bears up for adoption will be added quite frequently. http://teddybearfacelifts.com/
