SCW SATURDAY CAT WRESTLING & WAITING FOR SPRING

Hey Pals,

It's Snickers posting today. As some of you know, Butchy is off on his date with Lacie to Bermuda. They met Rosie & Petey there too. All are having a good time so far. When Butchy gets back, we'll try to post some photos of their trip.

What is SCW you ask?? Well it's Saturday Cat Wrestling you sillies. Silly Sylvester & Scuby just luv to wrestle, so Mama took a few videos of them with her camera. Here is one of the videos:




By the way, does anyone know where Spring is??? We're waiting for Spring to arrive here in Iowa. We are tired of freezing our tootsies off. We were looking through some of our camera videos and decided to show some things that we look forward to for Spring around here in our yard.

Around May 1st, the Ruby Throated Hummingbirds will return to our house:
(if you turn up the volume loud, you can hear the hummingbirds making their chatting noises)



In April, usually the Wild Turkey start hanging around daily getting ready for breeding season. They have been hanging around here already, but not steady like they do in the Spring.




And of course Mama can hardly wait for the ice to melt on top of the koi ponds. She really hates not seeing her pet koi for about 6 months out of the year. Once the ice is gone and the water reaches about 55-60 degrees, the koi will start breeding. Here is a video of them breeding, the males are chasing Koi Cookie!



Are you ready for Spring now??? We sure are. Mama and Papa have cabin fever, so they are going antiquing with their friends tomorrow. Hmmmm, wonder if Mama will find any Wire Fox Terrier items???

HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY!

Hey Pals,

Did you notice our surprise from Mama??? She made us a brand new background and header for our blog. She finally got around to upgrading to the new blog templates which use the new widgets and different coding and had to switch our template to the Minima so she could make our own background and things. The new widget coding is a bit different from the regular HTML, so Mama had to learn a few things on the way.

In case anyone is interested, she used graphics from free scrapbook sites, then modified some of them with words, changed coloring where needed, sizing, etc. Credits for the original graphics are located at the bottom of our page. You should have seen how many different designs she made up before deciding which one to use, whew! Thought she would never get done.

We can't believe it has already been 3 years since we started our very first bloggy. Our first blog was over on the Yahoo 360 site. Later that year we started our blogger blog. We kept both blogs going for a while, but then 360 decided to drop the photo program that had all of the picture albums Mama had loaded onto our blog. So that's when she decided to drop that blog totally.

We still have cyber pal links to add to our blogroll and Mama would like to add some bubbleshare slideshows towards the bottom of our blog for our water ponds, flowers, critters, etc. When we get those loaded onto the site we will let you know so that you can scroll down to the bottom to see them. Did you even notice the matching colored scrollbar if you are using Internet Explorer?? hehehehe! (that coding doesn't work viewing through Firefox)

We also wanted to remind everyone that yesterday was National Spay Day 2009.

Now remember, just because the official day has passed, doesn't mean you don't need to spay your pet. You can get your pet spayed or neutered ANY day of the year. Please be responsible pet owners and get your pets spayed or neutered.

HAPPY MARDI GRAS! & NEW TOY

Hey Pals,

It's FAT TUESDAY! Does that mean us furkids get to have extra food & treats??? We sure hope so. Mama wasn't too happy this morning. Sylvester started chatting to Mama at 4AM for his brekkie. Hmmmm, I think he got his internal feeding clock from me Butchy, tee hee. We're not supposed to get up until Papa does at 5AM. Then Mama gives us brekkie. I Butchy have the bad habit of trying to wake them up starting at 4AM and now Sylvester is doing the same thing. Mama thinks it's due to the time change in the Fall where we go back one hour. She's hoping when we spring ahead one hour that we will wait until 5AM to start begging for food, hehehehe.

Scuby wanted to show you the new toy that Mama made for the kitties. Notice it's for the KITTIES! not for us DOGGIES!! Hmmmmph, why couldn't she make it big enough for us dogs??? Well we're going to get her on the stick and make a big one for us dogs to play in.


Since I Butchy don't fit inside of there so well, how do I get to Scuby???

Scuby really likes the tunnel. She even just naps inside of it. Ruby likes to run through it very fast. Sylvester hasn't even gone inside of it yet. He just pokes his head inside of the end looking at Scuby.


This is nice, 2 things in one, nap spot & toy!!


We better get Mama busy now making a tunnel for us dogs. She still makes & sells items to her previous customers as a hobby. We have a few photos of some new things she has made so we'll post them another day. She likes to make things to stay busy so once in a while we'll post an item that's up for sale to anyone. Need to find a way to pay for Snickers' medications some how right??? Keeping our paws crossed that Snickers won't need to go on the additional medication to keep the seizures away.

SEIZURE MONSTER STRIKES AGAIN!

Hey Pals,

Sylvester here today. Well it's supposed to be Sylvester Sunday, but Mama didn't feel like getting my videos ready. She's all bummed out & stressed cause the Seizure Monster hit Snickers again today at 11:50AM. She had 4 seizures in 45 minutes. The good thing is that they are much shorter in duration since increasing her medication dosage. Snickers wants to know why that mean monster keeps bothering her:


Butchy and I both got out our LAZER EYES and scared the monster away!!



NOW STAY AWAY YOU MEAN SEIZURE MONSTER!!!

Since I don't have my videos ready, I'll show you some deer photos from the other morning. You'll notice our snow is gone in the photos, but it didn't last long. We got tons of snow again late Friday night and all day yesterday. Boy it's cold out too. The winds are very strong. Mama can hardly budge Butchy to go out for potty time. He wants to hide under the bankies.

THIS N THAT & NATIONAL PET DENTAL HEALTH MONTH

Hey Pals,

Sorry we haven't posted for a few days. But our minds have been focused on sending all of our zen to Klaus, Bogart's daddy who is very sick at the moment. We were so excited to hear that Bogart actually got to go visit Klaus in the hospital!! We know that Bogart's kissies will make his daddy get well even faster now. Please keep the prayers going, POWER OF THE PAW!

Miss Snickers has been under the weather the last few days. She kept vomiting her food & medications for 2 days. Poor Mama had to sort through the errrr ahhhh mess to see if any pills were there. She didn't want to over medicate Snickers. Yep, sure enough, her pills would be in the mess. So then Mama would wait an hour and then give Snickers her pills again. Snickers doesn't like having a tummy ache.


Mama let Snickers take her naps on the big bed those days. She put extra towels & bankies on top of the bed in case she got sick there, tee hee. Thank goodness she hasn't had any seizures since increasing her medication dosage.

Ruby & Snickers refused to show us their toofies. They said it's not lady like to open your mouth like that, hehehehe! Scuby said she didn't care, she's kind of a tomboy anyway. It's me Josephine reporting today. You would not believe the wheely buzz going on around here. Can you take a wild guess what it is???

Yeppers, Bentley the Wheely actually received his very own Valentine card in the mail. It was even addressed to him on the outside of the envelope.

Well silly Bentley thinks he knows who sent it to him and he just about fainted and actually fell over onto the wooden chest that was beside him.


Mama almost had to put a paper bag over his head to help him breath, hehehehehe.

He's feeling much better now. He had Mama up all last night helping him make a valentine card to send to his secret admirer. Here it is:

SNICKERS' NEW HAIRDO

Hey Pals,

I Snickers can finally come out of hiding now for the camera. I've shed my winter woolly coat, hehehe! Actually Mama got rid of it for me. I wanted to hire Lacie since she has started the grooming business, but she has been busy swimming in Mumsie's kitchen.

After Mama was done grooming my hair, then it was photo shoot time. Geez, can't a girl have a beauty nap once in awhile???

I was soooo tired, that I kept laying down & closing my eyes, tee hee.

Guess what starts on tv tonight?? The 133rd Westminster Kennel Club Doggy Show! The tremendous terriers are up tonight too. Wonder which one will win group?? Better go collect up my snacks for the evening & hop into my spot on the couch to watch the show.

I think my Kousin Asta might be spying at the dog show. I hope she gets some good photos!!!

BUTCHED! & BUDDY HOLLY REMEMBERED

Hey Pals,

Well, Mama did it. She dun butched me Butchy! Wadda ya think??



Today was the 50th anniversary of Buddy Holly's death. As many of you know, his plane crashed here in Clear Lake, Iowa, just outside of Mason City after his performance that night at the Surf Ballroom. Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson were also killed in the crash with him. You can go to this site which is the Mason City newspaper - Globe Gazette to read more about him and that night. Clear Lake is only about a 1 hour drive northwest from our house. Papa actually drove by there today as he had a job for work to do near there.

Time to go crawl back under the bankie. I'm cold without my woolly hair!

SYLVESTER SUNDAY or STEELER'S SUNDAY??

Hey Pals,


It's me Sylvester. It's supposed to be Sylvester Sunday, but Mama told me it better be STEELER'S SUNDAY!! Yep, she wants the Steelers to win the Superbowl.

Butchy and Snickers took off in Butchy's plane earlier today headed for the big game.


Wonder if they are going to see Joey & Tanner?? They are the biggest Steeler's fans that we know.

I thought I would show you the surprise that Mama got for us kitties. She actually bought us a toy that we can play with all by ourselves.


Scuby and I just love this toy. We can play for an hour at a time.


As you can see, Butchy's head is in the lower corner of the picture. He keeps trying to play with us, but can't figure out how to get his HUGE paw inside the track to push the ball. He has been able to push the ball with his pointy snout, hehehehe.



Scuby is really starting to relax inside of the house. Her and Butchy wrestle together now. They will go at it for a long time, then Scuby will run around from cat house to cat house with Butchy chasing her.

Next she ran to her pet roll, it's her most favorite!

Errrr, shouldn't have said that. He took his paw and smooshed down my roll onto my head...
