Hey Pals,
We have been really bummed around here since Sunday. We discovered that one of the bambi deer that visits our land daily has crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge.
We were walking around the land on Sunday, just checking out the deer tracks and doo doo remnants and this is what we found:

This poor little button buck just crawled under our pine trees and went to sleep forever.
We sure hope he didn't suffer and went peacefully.

We'll probably never know what happened to him for sure. There is no blood in the area, so we don't think he was hit by a passing car. He could have been weak or sickly and the below zero temperatures might have been too much for him. Rest in peace poor bambi.
Here are some pictures of the snow holes that the bambi make to lay in to keep warm around here:

With all of the deep snow that we have, food is becoming very scarce now for all of the outdoor critters. The deer will dig and dig in the snow looking for things to eat. Of course they luv to munch on our trees which doesn't make Mama and Papa very happy.
Here are a few of our trees that the bambi have chewed up:

This one really makes Mama sick cause it is her largest Colorado Blue Spruce tree that she planted as a tiny twig years ago.

Usually the deer do not chew on the blue spruce trees, so Papa didn't wrap wire fencing around them. But with the brutal winter we're having, the deer are eating everything they can find.
These two pictures show you some of the deer prints in the snow under some trees:

It looks like that on almost all of our land. A dozen deer can make lots of tracks and produce lots of doo doo for Snickers and I to try to grab, tee hee. That darn Mama has eagle eyes and won't even let us look at the doo doo let alone try to grab it.
We also wanted to tell everyone that after Mama talked with her income tax preparer, Snitchybug Dog Designs is NO MORE and has closed it's doors. After having three years of continued losses, it's time to close shop. Many small businesses just don't get enough sales to make a business profitable here in the United States. We've see many small businesses closing just in our surrounding area right and left in the last few months. With the present condition of the economy, we expect that many more stores will be closing this year.
We want to thank all of our customers from the bottom of our hearts for your support. To all of our friends that have advertised so generously on your blogs for us, please remove the ad link from your site as soon as possible. Again we thank you.
Wirey Hugs,
Butchy, Snickers, Ruby, Sylvester, Scuby & Linda
