Happy News & A Happy New Year To All!

Hey Pals,

Mama hasn't helped me blog for several days cause she has been berrrrrry busy. Yep, she's been trainin'. Trainin' what you ask?? Well...............................Hootie. She started out training her to come into the back door inside of the washroom. Then she was training her to walk inside of a crate for transporting. See, Hootie needed to get spayed before she goes into heat. We didn't want any ol' tom cats hanging around Hootie outside & getting her pregnant. Outdoor cats living in Iowa go into heat as early as the beginning of February. So we needed to hurry up and get her fixed.

But Hootie had other plans. She's a sneaky little kitty. We already knew that Hootie DID NOT like snow. And she really doesn't like the below freezing temperatures here in Iowa either.

So, after two days of training, Hootie decided she did not want to live outdoors. Nope, no way, won't do it. Mama couldn't get her to stay outside for nothing. So, softie Papa said 'I guess Hootie is an indoor cat!' Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I now have another kitty sissy. Mama told Papa he can't change his mind & made the appointment for Hootie to get spayed. Little Hootie went yesterday for her surgery & got to come home late afternoon. She's doing just fine! Here are some pics of her & one that shows her surgery scar.

Hootie is about 7-8 months old going by her teeth. So she was probably born last May-June. She is even smaller then Mama thought. She only weighs 4 1/2 lbs. So she's much smaller then Ruby. Ruby is only 6 lbs.

'I knew I could talk them into letting me live inside of that warm house!'

So now I don't get to play with Hootie outside anymore....

But that's ok, cause we're already wrasslin' in the house, well, in the washroom. She's still scared to check out the rest of the house yet. It will probably take her a few weeks like it did the other cats to check things out & feel more comfortable.

Hmmmm, maybe I can teach Hootie how to play fetch. The other cats won't do it.

We hope everyone has a Happy & Healthy New Year!

Wirey Hugs,
Butchy, Ruby, Sylvester, Scuby & Hootie

Oh you are lucky to have a furry friend that's smaller than you around. I love my three furry friends. They're warm to cuddle with in the winter and one of mine even cleans my ears! Be gentle with her, especially after her surgery. She's lucky to have you!

Butchy are losing weight? When my sissy moved away, Mommy had had to hand feed Mack for three months. You must eat Butchy. Your new kitty looks very cute. You might be able to train her.

Ooh, we like what Khyra said..."Hootie is a Cutie!" She sure is, and since she is pretty young, maybe you can teach her to play fetch. Good luck on that one, kiddo.

Happy New Year to Mama and Dad and all you critters at Mutton Hollow.

Yay! We heard about Hootie ... and we were hoping she'd wiggle her way into your home! She is a real (tiny) cutie and it's obvious she knows she has found a wonderful family. We're thinking Snickers met her and suggested she come along just at the right time to distract your mama just a bit. She's a lucky kittie. Especially to have you as a wirey brother.

We hope the year is a good one for you. We're pretty sure that the right things are going to happen at the right time. And we're guessing that Hootie is prob'ly already feeling like that's just how things are developing so far.

Thanks for helping to distract us while our people have been gone these past couple of weeks. Moma says the same.

Love ya a lot

I'd say that Hootie is one smart little Patootie! (See? I didn't say Cutie!) Wow - she's even smaller than Mica although Mom always says Mica's 6-pound weight is deceptive when he decides to walk over you in the middle of the night. I'll bet the koi will be happy that there's one more cat inside the house. Have fun - cats may not be great at fetch but they sure are fun to play tag with!

Your pal,

Petey
