I'm alive, I'm alive, all of your prayers are working!!! Mama says I'm the toughest terrier in the whole world! I'm fighting off this evil cancer monster, pushing him right out of my body.

None of us slept last night, as I was so terribly miserable. I had my bags packed, ready to travel to the rainbow bridge. I even sent my luv Gussie a goodbye letter. BUT, the Circle Of Paws helped save me.

As some of you know, I was really going downhill the last few days. We suspect I have Lymphoma Cancer. The only way to know 100% sure if this is the case, is to give me biopsy surgery. But, I am very high risk for the surgery with my condition and even the vet thinks I would not make it through, so we opted not to do surgery. I'm on several drugs to try to reduce the lymph nodes. I was unable to eat or drink for awhile because the swelling was so bad and I lost 3.4 lbs. in 3 days. My very high fever did a total reverse & went way too low yesterday. I didn't have bowel movements for 2 days, but FINALLY very late last night I had one.

I went to the vet early this morning to be checked out and if there was not a major improvement in my condition, I would then head to the bridge. My dawg, Mama, Papa & the vet couldn't believe it. I was doing my wiggle butt terrier dance down the hall, doing it in the exam room, jumping up all over the vet wanting to play. He was in shock! So we decided to do more xrays. All of my organs are still ok. If I do have the cancer, it has not spread past my head yet.

Now I'm begging all of you to help me jump the last hurdle I need to make to recover. I know I need all of your help. I will be going to the vet every other day to be checked out and if the swelling continues to go down, it needs to STAY down for good. If it does, then this means I had some type of nasty bacterial infection that we can't identify. I will then stay on antibiotics for at least another 6 weeks. I will also need to pig out on food, so that I can gain some weight back. I am very anemic right now.

But if the swelling comes back within the next 3-5 days, then my days are definitely numbered, as this would verify that I do have the cancer. My parents would then help me to the bridge before my condition gets nasty as most dogs live only 4-6 weeks past the diagnosis of this cancer.

I must have used every drop of Terrier Zen that I had, cause I just had a nasty seizure. Mama says I'm fine, but she's on an emotional roller coaster ride!

We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all of your prayers. We know I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for all of you. I am so blessed to have so many friends all over the world praying for me.

Luv & Wirey Hugs,
Super Snickers

I keep praying for you that the glands don't swell up again. My eyes filled with tears when I read Butchy was so happy to see you come back home, so do Gus and I.
I'll be praying hard for you and your family. You have your caring parents who love and care so much, they want the best for you! Just thinking of your mom preparing your suitcase for you to take with: plenty of clothes, an extra collar, favorite toys, especially your squirrellie make me cry, cry and cry!
Miss Snickers, please keep your energy and appetite up, I'll be the first dog to get in line to donate my blood just in case you needing some for your anemia.
Love y'all.

As you may have heard, we've been in love with you like forever but kept it quiet because of our loyalty to our pal Gussie. But right now, we think you need all the love you can get -- so here it is loud and clear for all to hear:

Your pals, Jake and Just Harry, sending you the bestest terrier zen we can, with paws joined to keep the miracle going..

Phew! This is LUCKY Friday the 13th! We read your letter to Gussie this morning, wrote a sad post, then heard, to paraphrase Mark Twain, "The reports of your death are greatly exaggerated!" And we couldn't be happier!

We've started the chain of hugs here in New York City - it should be arriving in Iowa shortly!

Your delighted pal,

You are one tough terrier. It just simply is not your time or day. We all must cross that bridge sometime down the road, but always know you have many friends who will be there with you, when that time comes. We love you Ms. Snickers and Butchy. We will continue to send Aire zen your way and cross our paws each and everyday. We will not be near a computer all weekend long, but you will be in our thoughts and prayers...

Please please take a nice rest on the big bed with Butchy and the kitties offering you healing kisses!!!

We're right here with ya dear girl...

Healing barks, hugs, kisses and slurps...

Snickers, We've been reading about you first time yesterday on FB, yet we feel we've known you for years. Me (I'm a WFT like you), my Mom and cat-brother kept an eye on Gus'blog all day (we're 7 hours past your time here in France) waiting for morning news. The first post made us so sad but your unexpected recovery is certainly a hint to the miracle we were all hoping for.
We pray this is only a nasty infection you'll soon get rid of.
The 3 of us are thinking of you and your family, sending Love, hugs, kisses and healing vibes. Keep crossed paws of course and will get back for more news in the morning. And please eat anything you can to regain weight and strength (cottage cheese will be smooth in your throat for instance). We love you Snickers xxx

Dear Snickers,

I just found your blog so I don't know you very well, but you sound like one tuff little terror of a terrier.

Mom hasnt had a chance to read all the comments and blog posts, but she wants to say if you havent seen an oncologist yet, you should go get another opinion regarding the lymphoma. My sister kitty was diagnosed 3 years ago with Lymphoma, and her regular vet said there wasn't much to do. Mom took her to a cancer special list and now 3 years later she is STILL with us! She just turned 17 and is going strong!

There are lots of treatment options that may work well for you, even though you are a doggie & not a kitty.

Just a thought. If you're pawrents have already explored all these options, or have made the decision not to due to reasons me or Mom don't know about, then forget I woofed anything. Just wanted to put that out there.
