Hey Pals,
It's me Dr. Pierre. Can you believe we have another patient here at the Snitchybug Dog Hospital??? The wheelies have been giving me lots of guff cause I've been on my cell phone a lot lately, even speaking in French. I've been talking with some people up in Canada. My wheely friend Bea Sally over at the Secret Schnoodle has been helping out with some of these calls too.

Remember in one of our last Wheely posts I found something sticking out from under the rug in the hospital room?? Well, I grabbed the little white tuft of hair & out popped Brownie!
And who is Brownie you ask??? heheheheh, it's a very long story. You see, Brownie is one of Brody's siblings. (Brody from the Secret Schnoodle) Brownie decided to run away from home due to the abuse he was suffering. He could no longer put up with the cruelty and set out to find his brother Brody.
From searching the web he found all of the dog blogs & stumbled upon Butchy & Snickers blog talking about having some Poodle friends. He thought that maybe Butchy & Snickers could help him find his brother Brody. Plus when he read about Dr. Snitchybug's miraculous surgeries, he knew he needed to find the doc. Brownie was suffering from malnutrition for one thing, and was in pretty sad shape. So he set out on his quest.
It was a long journey from Canada down to Iowa. Brownie had to trek through mountains of snow & suffer the burning sun rays. After 2 long weeks, Brownie arrived at the Snitchybug Dog Hospital. He was so worn out & could barely woof, so he crawled under the rug to rest. And that's where I found Brownie.
Poor Brownie was immediately checked out by myself & Dr. Snitchybug. He is soooooo skinny, no wonder he could hide under the rug. His paws are raw from climbing the mountains and walking on black top roads for many miles. He also has burns on his corneas.

We immediately placed black patches over his eyes to help them heal. We treated his paw pads and wrapped them up in gauze. Unfortunately, his nose is pretty scuffed up too. So we had to treat & wrap his nose. We feed him every hour since he is so malnourished.
He seems to be recovering well. Sylvester is studying to become a nurse so I let him check on Brownie each hour.

Sylvester decided he needed some one on one patient skills, so he crawled in bed with Brownie to keep him company.

We'll have an update for you next week on his progress.
Now yesterday, Snickers went to the vet to have the vetpire remove her blood for lots of tests. One big test was sent off to a special lab. The results will be back either this Friday or Saturday. If the results are normal, Snickers will start on the additional anti-seizure drug Potassium Bromide sometime next week. The drug is liquid form & needs to be made at a compounding pharmacy for her exact weight. So it takes a few days to get the drug to our vet. Once it arrives, then she will start the daily dosage. It generally takes 4-6 weeks for the drug to get to the correct level into the bloodstream. Then the process of waiting begins to see if she has anymore seizures. The drug might need to be adjusted a few times. But the vet is confident that this additional drug should keep Snickers from having anymore seizures. So now it's just a waiting game & MAMA HATES WAITING!!! hehehehe! She could get a bit cranky in this waiting process. Hmmmmm, maybe we should borrow some of that purple duct tape that Lacie used on Butchy, tee hee! Gotta get wheelin', Aire Ruby will be here soon to take us to Myrna & Gilbert's wedding!
Wheely Hugs,
Dr. Pierre

Gosh, your hospital is very sophisticated. I wonder if it could re-attach my monkey's arm (oh yeah, and his eye and his tongue). Or would Dr. Snitchybug use him for one of his cloning experiments?
I am fascinated learning about all the medical things that go on at your house. Your operating room is certainly state of the art.
All those potions for Miss Snickers sound most complicated. And all that waiting! Forever! I hope that it helps.
Slobbers,

It sounds like Brownie is in good hands, especially with Sylvester helping to tend to him. Anyone with the name Sylvester has a magical heart.
As for you, Snickers, we're hoping the KBr will be just the thing to keep away the Seizure Monster. Maybe they'll mix some cat claws in with it. A little voodoo might help, and we saw that cat claws are something like the second ingredient on a doggie supplement. (Go figure.)
Have a great trip. I'm sure the wedding is going to be just purrfect. (Are cats allowed?)
:) Jake and Fergi :)
One more thing.... does your hospital deal with extracted eyeballs. Fergi played with a froggie stuffie today ... her very first time! And she plucked out an eyeball. ewwww!
:( Jake :(
Poor little guy! I am sure you will get him back fit and wheelie.
I hope the new drugs help keep the seizure monster away
Lots of licks

I am sure that Brownie will recover nicely with Dr. Snitchybug and Sylvester taking good care of him. I really hope that the new drug keeps that nasty Seizure Monster away from Snickers.
Looks like Brownie is been really well looked after.

Brownie is in good hands with you, Dr. Snitchbug! We're sure he'll make a full recovery!
Our paws are crossed that this new drug will be the cure that Snickers needs!
See you at the wedding!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
We know Brownie is in good hands. He has had his first CAT scan.
hehehehe

we're so happy that Brownie is under the perfect care of Drs. Pierre and Snitchybug. we know he is in excellent paws and will be in perfect shape to make the journey to Washington state. Brody has been pacing the floor, waiting for some news. Bea Sally only speaks french on the phone and no one else here knows french. Brocksy has gotten out his french/english dictionary to translate some of the jabber. Brody will have to post soon about Brownie if Brocksy can ever figure out what is going on.
we understand how hard it is for your mama to wait for Snickers to get better. that's a long time to see if this new medicine is going to help missy Snickers. we are crossing our paws that it will do the trick and that the seizure monster will go underground for good.
woofs.
Sylvester looks like he is picking up the nursing thing pretty well, except usually we only see nurses climbing into the beds on those HBO movies that are on WAY after we are supposed to be asleep.
ANYWAY, we sure do hope that the tests are ok and that the medicine level keeps that STUPID seizure monster away forever.
Um I thought Nurses and patients were only allowed to have platonic relationships? Seemd to me Sylvetser has a bit of a crush on old brownie. Me.. I'd like to eat him, the brownie - isn't that what Brownies are for?
Hope the new medicine for Snickers will keep that nasty monster away. I'm wagging sad Momma has to wait so long, thats very tough. But I know Butchy will look after her.
Wiry wags, Eric xx
