Today was the 50th anniversary of Buddy Holly's death. As many of you know, his plane crashed here in Clear Lake, Iowa, just outside of Mason City after his performance that night at the Surf Ballroom. Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson were also killed in the crash with him. You can go to this site which is the Mason City newspaper - Globe Gazette to read more about him and that night. Clear Lake is only about a 1 hour drive northwest from our house. Papa actually drove by there today as he had a job for work to do near there.
Time to go crawl back under the bankie. I'm cold without my woolly hair!

Oh Butchy I know what that's like -- last haircut I got, it was so short I was so embarrassed (and COLD). It'll grow out, but Mom has promised to get my hair cut short again before we go to Kentucky in March!
