It's me Butchy & boy do I have a story for you. First of all, Sylvester got into big trouble cause he told Scuby about the 'SPAY' word, hehehehe! See they were playing footsies under the door & Sylvester whispered to Scuby about hearing Mama talking about the spay word & using the name Scuby in the same sentence.
Sure enough, Mama finally told Scuby that today she was going to the cat-tor to get spayed. Guess what Scuby did?? Tried to hide inside of Mama's snow boot:
It didn't do her any good to try & hide, cause Mama hauled her to the vet early this morning. By 10AM she was already starting to wake up from the surgery. She is staying overnight at the cat-tor & can come home in the morning.
After Mama came home from taking Scuby in to town, she put this weird sign up on the house:
Hmmmm, she was mumbling something about what Papa had said to her, something about the hobo wild kitties telling all of their buddies to come to our house for food & shelter!
Next she got out this new pet bed that she made to sell & put it onto the floor. It's a new style sample.
Wonder why she got it out???
Then we saw this:
A new collar?? Who in the heck is that for???
Yep, you guessed it. Scuby is here to live totally indoors now. Mama & Papa discussed how much it cost them to get Scuby spayed, give her shots, etc. & figured with that much invested, she is going to live indoors. Mama can't stand the thought of spending all of the money with Scuby living outdoors. There are just too many things that can happen to an outdoor kitty here in Iowa out in the country. Just 2 weeks ago, Papa's farmer friend lost a calf to a coyote in the night, yikes! No wonder Mama doesn't want them hanging around our yard. There are several big packs of them that live near us. It's kinda scary when you hear them howling & yelping at night. Guess we don't blame Mama for being paranoid about something happening to Scuby outdoors. We also have lots of big hawks, owls & eagles that hang out here too. You just never know when they might try to nab a kitty or two, ewwwwwwwh!
So anyway, Mama & Papa told us that since Ruby, Sylvester & Scuby used to all live together outdoors, now they can live happily indoors together again.

I think it's great that Scuby will join Sylvester and Ruby inside where it's safe. We have coyotes around here too and they come into town and snatch cats. I hope you dogs don't mind being outnumbered by cats now.

Poor Scuby, Spayed and Dismayed! But it looks like she has lots of nice prezzies to come home to. Mum always bwought hew cats in at night when she lived in California. PG also got lots of new prezzies just fow coming to live wif us. She uses my dog door to go out side and dwink fwom my pool, so sometimes I pee in it to discouwage hew - he, he he.

When we saw that new pet house, we thought your mom was branching out into new designs because it is so beautiful.
As much disdain we have for C.A.T.s, we are nevertheless happy for Ruby, Sylvester, and Scuby that they are so well loved and protected from wild animals. We think your folks are the best for everything they do for all kinds of four leggeds -- even C.A.T.s.

We're very glad Scuby is going to be inside with the rest of you! We have those nasty coyotes, here, too! We hear stories, all the time, about coyotes eating pets! Yikes! We're glad all your kitties will be safe! BTW, we love the new cat bed!

Aw, that's a lovely story Butchy. Me' n Otis are sitting here wiping our eyes crying with happiness. We just knew it wouldn't take long for that kittie long to get inside you and your leggededs great big hearts!!! We are both wagging Scuby will be looked after and loved. But crickey ,with all those wild scaries outside I think you had all better become house pets. Much safer.

hi kiddos, that's a very nice story with a happy ending - just the kind that we like. that part about the SPAY was a little scary, but mom told us it's the right thing to do. we know the kittys are going to love living together inside the house. they have a beautiful life now.

What great news! Mica has always been an indoors cat -- well, sometimes he ventures out into the hall when the pizza delivery guy drops by -- and he's going to be 18 years old next month! Couldn't be happier!
