WHEELY WEDNESDAY No 6

Hey Pals,
This is Max speaking today. It's hard to believe it's Wheely Wednesday already. We don't even have any new pictures of us wheely kids. Mama has been very busy making doggies clothes that she has sold. Plus she took Snickers to the vet on Monday, which by the way, Snickers' heartworm test came out negative so that's a relief. Her thyroid results aren't back yet but hopefully her medication won't need to be changed. Then Mama took Butchy to the vet this afternoon. Boy did he get the work over. First they stole his blood for his heartworm test & then decided to do his thyroid panel now too since the blood had to be taken anyway. It was due to be done in one month, so why go through that twice right?? Then he got all kinds of shots that were due. He got the A-OK from the vet then. While Mama was paying the bill, Butchy decided to check out the dog food room. It's piled high with dog food bags & he told me it smelled soooooo good. Mama had to drag him out of there, hehehehe.

We did get some pictures of a few bambi tonight. Mama is finishing up her order, so we'll post the pictures tomorrow. Gotta to help with the sewing.
Wheely Hugs!

RAIN LAST FRIDAY MORNING

Hey Pals,
Whew, we finally have that silly garage sale over with. Now we can get back to blogging. We did get to meet several nice doggies & Mama even sold some doggie clothes. We weren't sure if the sale would start on last Friday morning or not cause we had that horrible rain storm on Thursday night into Friday morning. On that Tuesday we had gotten 3/4 inch of rain, on Wednesday we had 1/2 inch and by Friday morning, we had gotten another 4 inches! Yep, most areas around us also got 4 inches on that Thursday night. It was awful. Flood warnings were everywhere, many schools were closed. It rained so much that the water even flooded over our driveway in one spot & flooded everything around our ponds. We had rivers running through the yard. Here are some pics Mama took early on that Friday. This was after the storm was over, but water still kept running everywhere.
It flooded all around our fish shack:
Can you see all of the hickory nut shells that collected here? There were piles like this everywhere in the yard.

More hickory nut shells:
Of course the shells then floated into the big pond & were all at one end. We had to remove some of the rim rocks to force the nuts to wash out with the water.

This is one of the rivers going through the yard:

All of the rivers merged & went passed our fence into the boy scout camp & formed a huge pond.
We feel like we live in a marsh now. When you walk on the ground, your feet squish down into the ground about 3-4 inches, it's very gross! Mama even had to search all of the rushing streams for koi that might have gotten washed out of the ponds. Luckily she didn't find any. At least the duckies like the water. Well that's all the news we have since Mama & Papa spent all weekend having the garage sale. Oh yeah, Snickers did get her blood stolen today, hehehehe! By those silly vampires at the vet's office. She's getting her thyroid levels checked & her heartworm check done. Poor me, I have to go on Wednesday, sigh......

WHEELY WEDNESDAY No 5

Hey Pals,
Max here today. Roxy is busy helping Mama with things for the garage sale coming up this weekend. So she told me I could do today's post, yipeee! First off, it was very nice out today, but the rest of the week is supposed to rain & maybe even snow again! Man, what a drag.

I got to go outside today & check out the deck area. Wow, it was fun. The wind was so strong that I would roll across the deck!
Hmmmmm, is this what you doggies call being in JAIL???
This deck sure is fun, I can see all over the yard. I even watched some pesky squirrels running up & down on the tree trunks. Hey Butchy, why don't you come out & play with me???
Butchy: I'll be out in a minute Max. I need to get a drink of water. Hmmmm, maybe I can find some treats too, do you want some???

Guess I'll have to wait for Butchy to come outside. While I wait for him I can introduce one of the other stuffies that lives here too. He did live in a far away place called England. Now he lives here with us. Mama adopted him too.
This is Tam:
Woof woof!! My name is Tam & I'm a Chiltern Terrier. I like playing out here with Max, it's fun.
Since Mama adopted me, she has been teaching me all kinds of things. One very important thing she taught me was to 'ALWAYS TAKE TIME TO STOP & SMELL THE FLOWERS' so that's what I did today:
She didn't think I would actually do it, but....... I didn't get into trouble either cause I was a good boy & didn't do any terrier digging. Max told me I need to learn that, hmmm, what is digging??
Time to go play again. See you next week for Wheely Wednesday!
Wheely Hugs!

TWO SUNNY DAYS!

Hey Pals,
Can you believe we had 2 sunny days in a row?? Yep, Sunday & Monday it was sunny & warm, temperatures even got up to 70 degrees. We like that. Then of course this morning had to be nasty. We woke up at 4AM to thunder & lots of rain again. I Butchy was not a happy boy at all.

On Sunday, Mama checked the water temperature in the koi ponds & it was finally up 50 degrees, so we could start feeding the koi. They sure remember fast where the feeding spot is in the pond. One time of feeding them on Sunday & now they hear us coming to the pond & they swim right to the feeding area. Some of them are still a bit shy about grabbing the food, but others dig right in. We took a few pictures, but they are not very good since the koi grab the food & dive down.

I Butchy even had to start Koi Guard Duty right away since that nasty Kingfisher (Baby Monster Bird) kept flying over the ponds. Boy did I tell him who owns that pond. Mama still can't believe that I can remember the bird's cackle after not hearing him all winter long. I can hear him when he is 1000 ft. away flying over the neighbors yard. Snickers & I got to hang out at the fish shack most of Sunday:
Hear I am watching those silly toads & frogs in the water. They sure were making a lot of noise.
We got to hang out on the deck yesterday while Mama painted signs for the big garage sale they are having this weekend. We love to be out on the deck. We can see everything from there that gets into our yard.
Here is Snickers, she is hiding under the table thinking Mama won't see how furry she looks, hehehehe. She knows her hair stripping will be coming soon....
We also took a few flower pictures to share:

These are called Hellebores:

Now that we can see the koi, we can take an inventory to see if those nasty Mink took any of them this winter. As we told you before, we did have several die this Spring as the ice melted away. We hope to have a RIP list for you soon. Mama is upset that some of her koi died, but it was a long winter for them this year.

Earthquake???

Hey Pals,
Can you believe we had an earthquake in the Midwest this morning?? A 5.2 earthquake hit in southern Illinois & was even felt in Des Moines, Iowa which is only 100 miles south of us. Wow, we just can't believe it. Below is the link to the news story:

http://www.kwwl.com/News/index.php?ID=24216

We haven't heard if anyone in our local area felt the earthquake or not. We were just getting up about the time it hit but we don't think we noticed anything. We have a rock quarry only about 1 mile from us & they blast dynamite all of the time so we're kind of use to the house shaking. Mama said she was up but was too groggy to even notice if the house rattled.

We have had rain for 3 days straight now & this is getting really old fast. It just pours & pours & pours. Our yard has water sitting everywhere & we even have a 3rd pond where water settles. Mama isn't too happy about it either, cause every time we come in from going potty, our legs & feet are soaked & we track mud EVERYWHERE!!
Here is the rain pond:
Here are our two ponds & they have been flooding all day. The water then runs to our fence & just past it and creates another huge pond of water. At least that pond is on the scout's property. The wood ducks sure like this weather though & we've seen them in the ponds off & on all day.

This weather sure isn't good for Snickers & I because Mama has to come up with things to do to keep her busy. And ya know what she did last night???? She butched ME Butchy! Yep, she stripped & trimmed my hair, see:
All of my curls are gone!
Now she's talking about grinding my nails too.
Could you do those things to a face like this????

WHEELY WEDNESDAY No. 4

Hey Pals,
It's Roxy! Anyone want to borrow 2 wirey kids?? Blossom & Gertie are driving me crazy!
They follow me everywhere around the house. Can't a girl get some privacy??
They even try to climb on top of each other to reach onto my back. I told them they need something to play with. WRONG!!!
So guess what they did?? They snuck out of the house & went cruising around the countryside. You'll never guess what they brought home with them, yep, another wirey kid!
Mama was going nuts when she found out, but you know her, can't turn down a foxy kid. So here is Digby:

Blossom & Gertie have already taught him how to wrestle with them.....
Play bitey face......
Digby is fitting in very nicely & he sure keeps those kids of mine occupied. Ahhhhhh, now maybe I can take a bubble bath. Do you think Mama will let me use her tub??

Uh oh, I just saw Butchy whispering something to Max, wonder what kind of trouble they have brewing???
Huh, what??? you talkin' bout me??? I'm Cool Max!! Me & Butchy was just talkin' boy stuff, you know, like girls & things, tee hee. I hear there's another pawty coming up at Opal's place & I get to go this time. Butchy was giving me tips on how to get the girls to talk with me & maybe even dance with me at the pawty.
Time to get back to boy talk now. See you next week.
Wheely Hugs!

He's Alive! He's Alive!

Hey Pals,

He's Alive!! Yes, Burt is alive & well. Dr. Snitchybug had to do several major surgeries on Burt, but he made it through them with flying colors! Here are a few pictures of when Burt first arrived from the helicopter flight:

Dr. Snitchybug was very worried about him, she took his temperature & all it said was LO.
The operating room is all ready for Burt:
This is the last thing Burt remembered before the surgery:
Walah!!! After surgery, Burt was up & about right away. We couldn't believe our eyes.

How do you like the new Burt??

Burt even has a Snitchybug Dog Designs Bandana now too. He has to match with the 4 B's ya know.
Burt: OK Brody, you better beware, I'm back!!!
Burt is going to be heading home tomorrow. So Bailey, keep Brody in jail a few more days, hehehehe!
