WHEELY WEDNESDAY!!

Hey Pals,

It's me Roxy! Some of you have met me before & others haven't:
Here I am when I first arrived here at my new home with my newly born pups Blossom & Gertie:
Mama rescued me from a place down in Texas called eBay. I had a boyfweind while I was there at the foster home & errr ummmm we had some pups together, tee hee. See how well Blossom & Gertie are doing??
I thought I would introduce you to our 2 legged sissy named Sapphire, we'll let her talk now.

Hey bloggers, my name is Sapphire! It used to be Foxy, but Mama renamed me when she rescued me. As you can see I only have 2 legs & NO WHEELS!
I wonder if I'm related to the Foxy that lives over at Lacie, Scruffy & BabyStans' place?? I heard from Lacie that the girls are supposed to be in charge of the Wheeled Kids & since Foxy is in charge of the wheelies at their house, I think I should be in charge of Roxy & Max here don't cha think?? I tell ya, those youngin's Blossom & Gertie sure keep us hopping. Look at what they do when the play with Max, they pull him around the whole house!!
Max is supposed to be taking it easy until he has his mutiple surgeries so the kids figured they would help out & pull him around the house. They didn't want his insides to fall out of his tummy hole, see:
I'm going to wear my little front paws ragged chasing after those two, what will I do! It's very hard to keep up with them since I don't have wheels or back legs.
Max is supposed to help watch them, but look what he does most of the time:
He sleeps with Butchy!

Anyway, some of you might not know who Cyril is, so here is Cyril, he is the father to Blossom & Gertie:
Isn't he a hunk?? He ran away from eBay in Texas (that's where he met Roxy) and Gussie & Teka helped him find his way here to Roxy. Mama told him he can live here so that way he can watch his little pups grow up. BTW, Roxy & Cyril aren't married, Roxy said she doesn't want to be tied down to just one wirey dude yet, hehehehehe! I better let Max talk now since he is the boy wheely around here.

Wheeeeeee! Those pups sure can fling me around the house fast. I'm Max & Mama adopted me. I'm one of Seymouw's pups and actually Myrna's twin brudder.
As most of you know I had a rough time trying to find Myrna & ended up finding Butchy & Snickers. I got pretty beat up & need several surgeries to fix myself back up again. Mama will be operating on me very soon & I hear I already am going to have my own private nurse, Nurse Lacie!! She's even studying up on "Care of the Male Wheeled Stuffie After Stuffie Reinsertion". So I know I'll be in good paws. Guess I better sign off for today, those pups sure wear me out. Be sure to visit us next week for Wheely Wednesday & also visit our other Wheely Pals:

Meme & Koi Pictures

Queen Snickers my kitty pal tagged me Snickers for the middle name meme.

Today the sun was shining so we went out to our ponds to watch for the koi fishies. The bad news is that Mama found one more dead koi, sigh........ But the other koi decided it was time to wake up and start swimming around the ponds. First here is a picture of the ponds 5 days ago with lots of ice cover still on the water:
This was this morning, almost all of the ice is gone on the big pond:
Can you see the colored spots under the water?? That's the slow moving koi, plus lots of leaves that have been blowing in the pond the last 2 days.
Mama could see that all of her huge older females are alive- Ice T, Cookie, Copper Top & Peaches:
And here is Ice T, Mama called her & she came over to the side of the pond right by Mama. Mama bets that Ice T weighs about 5-6 lbs. now.
We've had several pals start asking about the koi naming list already for this year and the list has been started. Here are the names currently on the list waiting to have a koi named after them:

So if you want to be on the list this year, just let us know. The baby koi that hatch this spring & summer need to be so big before Mama names them. She has to be able to tell them apart from the other koi. So the naming will probably start later in the summer when the koi reach about 3-4 inches.

Stoopid Computers & Another Surprise!

Hey Pals,
Sorry we've been away so many days. We've been having horrible computer trouble. Makes Mama really upset too, she spends so many hours trying to get the thing running, then it works for a day or two, then breaks again. She kept mumbling something about stoopid Windows updates, hehehehe. We're very behind on reading blogs but we'll try to get caught up this weekend.

We had a nice surprise in the mailbox today, this cool card & photo from our pals Cubby & Dakota:
Thanks so much! You helped cheer us up cause we were bumming about finding 2 dead koi in our pond this morning. Mama was very upset & crying while she netted them out of the pond. We're pretty sure we know which koi they are, but we're not going to tell you the names of them until we know for sure. In 3-4 weeks the koi should start swimming again & be near the top of the water so we can see them. Once we know for certain the names, we'll let you know. We have our koi naming list started for the year with several pals signed up already, so we'll have to add these 2 names back onto the list first in line.

We did have another nice thing happen earlier in the week. Remember when Seymour had his pups over at Scruffy, Lacie & BabyStan's place??? and the only girl pup Myrna was sent to Asta's house to live?? Well, one of the boy pups ran off a few weeks ago. Seems he found out that he was actually a twin & that Myrna is his long lost twin wheely sissy! Can you believe that???

Well, his name is Max and he traveled all over in the last two weeks trying to find Myrna. He got pretty scuffed up on his travels. He stopped at some bar to ask directions & some ruff dudes decided to beat the stuffins out of him, tee hee! While on his travels he heard about some of Scruffies blogging pals and he actually heard our names. Well, he was near Chicago, so decided to head our way thinking we might know something about Myrna. It took him awhile, but he actually found our house!! He hired a pilot to fly him around looking for a house by the woods with 2 ponds and he saw our house!

So he had the pilot drop him off. We sure were surprised when he arrived. He asked us if we knew Myrna & if we would adopt him & of course Mama couldn't refuse. Especially since he needs some major sewing surgery & Mama knows how to do that. He told us that he & Myrna were called the 'M&M Twins' by the other pups. So that is their nickname, hehehehe. Here are some photos of Max before he has his surgeries so you can see the difference afterwards:







He needs a nose job, a new tongue, a new right ear, tummy tuck & tail docking. Plus he needs a bit of fur repair. Mama assured Max that she could fix him up. Max is so excited that he will get to read Myrna's adventures on Asta's blog, especially now that Wheely Wednesday has been proposed. Guess we better go play with Max for a bit. He loves to play tug of war, hehehehe.

Mystery Solved!!

Hey Pals,
This is Reporter Miss Snickers. Inquiring bloggers are dying to know who the father is to the non-wheeley pups that our sissie Roxy gave birth to. Inspector Butcho has been hot on the trail of clues this week. First Butcho started with the clues we had from Roxy when she was fostered at eBay in Texas. Then Butcho interviewed as many terriers as he could in eBay. He found out that Roxy did have a cute little boyfriend there.

Next the clues revealed that Roxy's boyfriend missed her so much that he set out to find her. He escaped from eBay and headed towards Tempe, Arizona.

Lo and behold, our pals Teka Toy & Gussie heard through the grapevine that he was trying to find them at their house. Roxy's boyfriend heard from some of the terriers at eBay that Roxy was going to live with Butchy & Snickers & that Gussie was Snickers' beau. So he thought if he could find them, he would somehow find his sweetie Roxy.

Well can you believe that he actually found Gussie & Teka??? and he even hitched a ride with Muzzer a few days ago since she was headed for St. Loulis??? Muzzer dropped him off at the Interstate 35 intersection near Kansas City so he could find a truck stop.

He figured he could hitch a ride with a trucker headed towards Iowa. He was right too. There were tons of truckers going that direction so one of the fellows was kind enough to give him a ride. He just had to promise not to potty inside of the cab, hehehehehe.

We couldn't believe that sneaky Gussie, Muzzer & Teka didn't spill the beans to us that we would be seeing a visitor soon. On Friday morning we woke up to the sound of a barking dog. Mama couldn't figure out who it could be. The neighbor dog barks all of the time, but she is not that loud. So we all jumped out of bed & look what we saw by the door:
Oh our dawgness, we think it's Roxy's boyfriend....
Roxy & her pups Blossom & Gertie came running to the door to see the visitor....
It's CYRIL!!!!!! Let him in, let him in.....
How do you do Mama L?? My name is Cyril......
Cyril was so happy to see Roxy & just had to lick her on the head.....Blossom & Gertie were so excited to finally meet their Papa.....
As you can see, I Cyril have NO WHEELS! So that's why Blossom & Gertie are Non-Wheeley pups, arf, arf, arf, arf.....
Inspector Butcho had to check Cyril out to make sure he was ok to stay here....
Hmmmm, smells ok......
And look what Cyril brought with him, it's a note from Gussie & Muzzer.....

Gussie, you are so sweet to loan Cyril that bootiful red bow tie. And Teka, thanks for putting the pink glittery heart sticker on his neck too. Roxy really liked it, hehehehe.

Whew, this reporting stuff really tires out your paws, think I need a pedicure. Now that the mystery had been solved, Butchy & I needed to catch our ride on Aire-Ruby to attend Baby & Huskee Boy's wedding. We didn't even have time to put any clothes on, we had to go el'nekkid! I was soooooooo embawassssssssed. Roxy ended up not going with us since Cyril arrived. She didn't want to leave him. We ended up getting back home to Iowa really late on Saturday and boy are we tired. Think we all need to take a nap. Little Blossom & Gertie are already napping, tee hee.

Mr. Owl

Hey Pals,
We finally got pictures of our owl that hangs around our house. We've been seeing him each day and today when we were doing walkies around the land, those stoopid black birds kept bothering & chasing Mr. Owl. Finally he landed in a tree right by us so we stopped & watched him. Mama started talking to him, silly Mama, and he actually made his whoo whoo owl noises, hehehehehe. Then later this afternoon we kept seeing him fly from tree to tree looking for food. We think he's trying to get those pesky Jack Squirrels. Then later Papa looked out the window & saw him in a tree a couple of trees out from the house. So Mama ran & got her camera to take some pictures of him. Now these were taken through the DIRTY sunroom windows so they are not as good as they could have been. We're pretty sure it's a Barred Owl.


Next the owl flew to the ground here:
After looking around a bit he decided to fly into another tree:
And check out our yard, you can actually see some brown grass peeking out from the snow finally:
It's been in the 40's for the last 2 days & snow is melting everywhere. Yippeeeee! We can hardly wait for Spring. The bad thing is many farm fields are already flooded from the melting snow & the rivers will soon flood too. We hope homes don't get flooded. Have a good Friday!!

We've Been Tagged!

We've been tagged by our pal Keeley for the book tag. Now remember, we don't read many books, and Mama usually reads instructional type books. So this will probably be boring, but here goes:

Rules:
1. Grab the nearest book of 123 pages or more.
2. Open it to page 123.
3. Find the first 5 sentences and write them down.
4. Then invite 5 friends to do the same.

The book title is 'Quiltmaking by Hand' by Jinny Beyer

Page 123:
4. Using the same technique as step 3, sew one small wedge to either side of the next larger point to make the large wedge unit. Now you will need the large checking template made in step 2 that incorporates the larger point and the two pieced wedges on either side. After making each of four large wedges, place the checking template on top to be sure they are each the correct size. If not, make adjustments to the seams.
5. Lay out the four large wedges and the final corner pieces next to the center star as shown.
