120 CHRISTMAS CARDS & WINTER STORM

Hey Pals,
Well we think we have received all of the Christmas cards that everyone has sent us. We have a total of 120 cards!!! Thanks to everyone for sending them to us. We love them all. Here is the final picture of them hanging up:

It's getting a little hard for Papa to walk under them, hehehehe! Mama told us we can leave them up for a little bit longer.

Well we're in the midst of another winter storm right now. We're really sick of these storms. It's about -25 below zero right now with the windchill & the winds are 30 some miles per hour. Yesterday it was 40 some degrees above zero. Figure that.... The good thing is that the wind is blowing some of the snow storm past us so we shouldn't get too much snow. Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.......we interrupt this program to bring you a news storm alert.......

Hmmmmmmmm, this is Butchy & Snickers Mama, where did they go??? Something's up. I just found this by the front door:

Then I looked outside the window and saw this in the driveway.....
Gee, now I just heard the back door slam shut, what's up????

Uh oh, now I see this pink blur out in the field across from us. I know what's up now, I think Butchy & Snickers just headed off to Gussie's house in sunny Arizona.
Those darn furkids!!! Now I just found a note on the counter telling me they left early for the Super Bowl pawty at Gussie's house cause they didn't want Aire-Ruby to get grounded here in Janesville due to the high winds this week. Hmmmm, wonder how they paid for the pink 4 wheeler????? Guess I better let Muzzer know that some wirey kids are on their way to her house.

Well we're still alive here in frozen Iowa, but we feel like Frozen Dog Cubes! This below zero stuff is just awful. Since many of our pals have been showing pictures of their tongues, we decided to dig out some of our tongue pictures.

Well another snow storm rolled past here last night & this morning. We have gotten around 6 inches of new snow here where we live in Iowa. Plus, the winds have now picked up & the temperatures are way below zero! Brrrrrrrrrrrrr! We've had our fireplace going every day now for weeks. It sure makes the house warm & toasty, and ummmm, sometimes it's way too hot, hehehehe. Sometimes it gets to 90 some degrees up here in the loft, whew, a bit too hot. Mama wanted to get a few photos of us outside today, but it wasn't easy. It was so cold & windy & it's hard for her to take pics while holding both of our leashes so we don't run off. We had lots of deer roaming in our yard today too.

Now where did that bambi go??

This is what the open hole on our pond now looks like.....
When it's this cold, it freezes almost shut, the air bubbles create foam with the water & snow & sometimes the tower can get over 1 foot high of frozen foam. After a few days with the sun shining, the hole will open up wide again.

Guess we better go help Mama. She's making some venison chips that Scruffy requested we bring to the poker pawty at his house tomorrow night. Be there or be square!!

Treat Jars

Hey Pals,
A while back our wirey pals Agatha & Archie posted 'What's on top of your fridge?' So we thought we would play this game too, except......there is nothing on top of our fridge for us. We have cupboards above our fridge so there really isn't any room to put things on there. But we do have several treat jars all over on the counter tops.

This basket holds some of our beef tendon treats. Our bottle of salmon oil sits behind the basket and our Solid Gold Seameal Powder too.
These are 2 kinds of tiny treats that we get. Both of them are low in calories.
These 2 jars don't exactly hold treats, but it is things for us. It has our flower essences & my pills I need to take sometimes when it's thundering outside. It also holds benedryl for emergency use.
This jar with the big moose on it holds some more of our beef tendons or little thin rawhide chews.
And this jar holds our biscuits.
There is also a tiny spice drawer above that jar that holds our medications. So basically, almost all of the jars on the cupboard hold things for us, hehehehe.

Little Snickers has been kinda bummed the last few weeks. Her leaking urine problem while sleeping has come back. It started almost 2 years ago & she was put on the medication Proin 50. After several months, the Army Of Four gang told us about a natural supplement that they were using for their same problem. So Mama ordered it for Snickers & gave it a try. Well it was working great until a few months ago. Mama tried giving Snickers a higher dose of the supplement but it hasn't been working and the leaking has been worse. So yesterday Mama called the vet's office & Snickers will need to be put back on the Proin 50 probably for life. Proin 50 contains the medication Phenylpropanolamine. It works on the nervous system by tightening the internal bladder sphincter muscle and relaxes the dog's bladder wall to prevent accidental leakage of urine. It's really no big deal, just another pill to take 2 times per day. At least the supplements worked for a while. Not all natural supplements work for every pet.

Well that's actually 13 pals, hehehehehe!

We noticed that we really haven't posted any photos of Mama's African Cichlid Fishies so we thought we would show you some of them. It's hard to get good photos in the big aquarium due to lighting. The camera flash needs to be on & it's always glowing in the photos. The aquarium that these fish are in is 125 gallons. The photos only show a tiny spot in the big aquarium.



This is ZEUS! He is one of Mama's Frontosa cichlids. She has 4 of them. Zues is about 9 inches long & almost 3 years old.
This is Zeus again.

This is Zeus above with Zulu below in the photo.

The front chichlid is a Red Ruebecan & his name is Reuben. The red fish in the back is a Red Peacock & his name is Red, hehehehe.
This is a Red Empress Cichlid & his name is Red King.
This is a Moori Cichlid.
Not all of the cichlids have names. Mama just names some of her very favorite fish. Can you believe these fish are just as bad at begging for food as the Koi Fishies & us dogs??? Hmmmmm, all pets must beg for food eh?? Do any of our pals have African Cichlids?? Let us know if you do & share some photos.
