Just a quick post to let you know we are still ok here in Iowa. Yesterday the Qwest building in Cedar Rapids flooded so most Iowans that are on the Qwest Internet service were down til this morning. Our service still keeps going off & on today yet so we thought we'd try to post this while it's still on for now. Most of you have probably heard about the horrible floods now in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City & surrounding areas. It's so unreal how high the waters are flowing at such record breaking levels. So far today we haven't had any rain thank goodness. Wednesday night through early Thursday morning we received just about 3 inches of new rain here. Last night Cedar Rapids & farther south had really bad storms with some tornadoes showing on radar. We're supposed to stay dry for tomorrow too, but by tomorrow night more storms are on the way. Most of the rivers near us are going back up again & expected to crest again in a few days. Hmmmmm, is this ever going to stop? We think we should start building that ark with the down trees that we have.

We thought since most people never ever see a real F5 tornado first hand, we'd post a few pictures that people had taken of the F5 tornado that hit Parkersburg on May 25th this year.
We have our paws crossed that no one ever sees a tornado again like this in their town.Wirey Hugs!

OMG we just came straight here after seeing Cedar Rapids on the news and they said 20 twisters have been recorded in one day in Iowa. This is too scary. Are you guys alright?????

Hi, Butchy and Snickers -
We haven't heard from you both in a while - now we know that you have had some really awful (an understatement) weather.
We don't get tornadoes here but we do get a lot of hurricanes which can be bad too.
We did see the pictures of Cedar Rapids and it looks like what some people experienced when Hurricane Katrina hit Louisiana.
We are keeping our paws crossed that this will end soon.

oh kiddos, are we sure happy to hear from you! we've been worried about all of the flooding and we really don't want you go get washed away! thank dogness, you're okay - for now. that flooding is terrible. our poodle hearts go out to all of those pets and their peeps who have lost everything.
the tornadoes are scary to the max. if we lived there, we would run away. we just don't know how dogs can be so brave to live with those things going on and threatening them all of the time.. you are our heroes. please please please please stay safe and DRY.

My goodness get some water wings if you don't finish that ark in time! My Mom's boss's family is from Iowa and I hope none of them are flooded, too. Mom had some old friends in Ames on a farm; hope they're OK too.
I know a big Border Collie named F5 Tornado who's great at agility but he's not near as big as a real F5 Tornado!!!

Hasn't the weather this year just been insane!?!? First we get the never-ending super snowy winter. And now we get severe thunderstorms, tornados, and floods! Here there's been some kind of warning or watch in effect every single day this past week. Good to know that's you're surviving all this there in Iowa. I hope it's over for a while now!

I'm glad you are safe. We've had a lot of flooding here in Illinois, but not quite as bad as you. For a couple of days, our small town was an island, but the water receded in time for me to go to work on Monday. Rain, rain, go away!

Butchy 'n Snickers...here's hopin' ya didn't get anymore of that terrible relentless rain....it's good ta have a bit of it but not a ton of it...if ya need help buildin' an Arc....my Pap is pretty good with the saw 'n hammer but we hope ya don't need it...tornadoes are really scary....we had some around our cottage 'n some in the city that just make ya wonder how Mother Nature can be so strong...oh yeah...hope ya had a good Father's Day.....stay safe....
