Earthquake???

Hey Pals,
Can you believe we had an earthquake in the Midwest this morning?? A 5.2 earthquake hit in southern Illinois & was even felt in Des Moines, Iowa which is only 100 miles south of us. Wow, we just can't believe it. Below is the link to the news story:

http://www.kwwl.com/News/index.php?ID=24216

We haven't heard if anyone in our local area felt the earthquake or not. We were just getting up about the time it hit but we don't think we noticed anything. We have a rock quarry only about 1 mile from us & they blast dynamite all of the time so we're kind of use to the house shaking. Mama said she was up but was too groggy to even notice if the house rattled.

We have had rain for 3 days straight now & this is getting really old fast. It just pours & pours & pours. Our yard has water sitting everywhere & we even have a 3rd pond where water settles. Mama isn't too happy about it either, cause every time we come in from going potty, our legs & feet are soaked & we track mud EVERYWHERE!!
Here is the rain pond:
Here are our two ponds & they have been flooding all day. The water then runs to our fence & just past it and creates another huge pond of water. At least that pond is on the scout's property. The wood ducks sure like this weather though & we've seen them in the ponds off & on all day.

This weather sure isn't good for Snickers & I because Mama has to come up with things to do to keep her busy. And ya know what she did last night???? She butched ME Butchy! Yep, she stripped & trimmed my hair, see:
All of my curls are gone!
Now she's talking about grinding my nails too.
Could you do those things to a face like this????
Wirey Hugs!
Butchy & Snickers

Butchy...oh, Butchy...grind ur nails??? NOOOOO!!! Though I admit it'd be better than Dr. Mamasnitchy comin' at ya with a big sewin' needle!!! Then you better run!!! You look fab! Your mom can groom! Wow...Mumsie is very impressed. And her stuffy/wheelie hospital that she's started is unbelievable. She could have quite the new business goin' there!!!!! Thank Dog she was able to save Burt. What a terrierable attack!!! Mumsie was so overcome by some kind of emotion when she saw Burt's head separated from his body that she started to shake and clutch her tummy. We had to revive her so she could feed us dinner.

Digby looks very ah familar...as him who his father is...just ask.

Barkin' at you terriers!!!!!

Wow....I can't believe there was an earthquake! It sure is a good thing you didn't feel anything!

My mom likes to grind my nails too, but I don't mind too much. That's because I always get a special treat afterwards.

Butchy, you look very handsome. And you are very lucky to have a talented Mama. I have to take my chances with the groomer, and since my bichon period, muzzer has just been bathing me and keeping me clean. I let her pluck a few hairs now and then just so she thinks I am adjusting.

It's been raining everyday here too! Usually high rise buildings can feel the tremors like the one time my hoomans felt few years back when they were living in an apartment. They said it was scawie...The whole apartment was swaying like mad! But for houses on landed property, it's usually hard to feel it. Have not felt any yet sooo far since living in this house for over two years now. Well, that's also becoz there hasn't been any earthquakes happening in Indonesia lately. Anyway, you look good when you're done! I think your nails need to be grind becoz they sure are loooong...You'll only need to suffer for a few min I'm sure. Just chew on something yummy while she's doing your nails. Hee!

When my mom was growing up in Indianapolis there was a midwest earthquake on that New Madrid fault and all the pictures and glassware rattled. Be careful out there!

G'day Butchy, we heard about the earthquake on our news last night and we thought about all our DWB maties who live in the midwest. Sounds like you guys were ok though.
We've had loads of rain too. Today Sunday is the heaviest. It's been really misty and foggy too.
Hopefully the rain will ease up soon.

Hi Butchy and Snickers,
I am glad all of you are fine and are not affected by the quake. I like your new haircut!

I like your new haircut too. I get groomed all the time but they use clippers and don't pull hair like they must do you... ouch! You look very handsome! It rained a lot today too and now we're tracking in mud. Too bad, Mom has to clean it all up.

Yep I was in KY last month, I'm so glad the EQ didn't happen when I was there or I would've just run all the way home by myself!

Hi, Butchy and Snickers -

First you get a lot of snow and now rain. We have been having some nicer weather and Kaci says the snow is finally melting some.

Butchy, you look handsome in your new haircut. Mama is not good at cutting hair or grooming - we have our own "hairdresser." We don't have to worry about our Mamas grinding our nails - the sidewalks by us help to keep our nails short.

Love -

Hershey and Kaci

That earthquake thing was very scary! Our mom works about 1/2 mile from a rock quarry so she's used to it, but when other people come into her office, they freak out! Then they give weird looks to Mom because she doesn't show any reaction to the shaking. It happens so often that sometimes, she doesn't even notice it.
You look very handsome, Butchy!
Did Snickers get stripped too?

Aire-hugs,
Poppy & Penny

Your haircut looks really good though. My mum heard about that earthquake. Kinda scary stuff. I told her I had friends that lived up around there and that I needed to go check on your guys...Glad you are okay. It rained here forever and ever. It finally stopped.

Earthquake? Glad to know you all are safe though. You look really nice in your new haircut, Butchy.

That's not fair! If she's bored she should go make you cookies or something! We need some rain here. If you could, would you send a couple says worth to Colorado? Mom usually hates when it rains for awhile because it makes our dirt back yard all muddy which then makes our floors all muddy, but the fire danger here is at an extreme high right now which makes us all very nervous.

You guys look nice with your new haircuts, but they must be old by now! I am slowly catching up on things. I am glad you are okay after the earthquake AND the tornado. We had the earthquake here too - just a little rumbling. My mom woke up, but I slept through it!
