Koi Sparky!

Hey Pals,
Remember last weekend when Mama & Papa worked on the smaller pond? Well they found about 12 young koi in there & a few goldfish. The eggs would have been from the larger pond, gone up the drain pipe, through the water pump blades, through the waterfall & into the smaller pond and then hatched. Wow, that's a wild ride for tiny eggs. Mama gave 3 koi to Uncle Ronnie & Aunt Janice for their pond and then kept the rest. There are 3 koi that Mama will keep for sure. Of those 3, Mama has only named one so far. So here it is:
KOI SPARKY!!!

Mama named it Sparky cause it's all sparkly!! It's coloring is heavy metallic yellow.
Tomorrow Mama & Papa will be working on the large pond. We've had the pump draining water out for 2 days now. Mama knows of 6 young koi she is going to name for sure that are in there. So total she has 8 to name yet. Then who knows what other koi they will find when the water is very low. We probably won't have pictures or the names attached for a few days. It will take Mama & Papa the whole weekend to trim up the water plants, divide some of them, clean out the sticks & things from the pond & sort fish. Snickers & I will be very busy doing fish guard duty all weekend. When the water is so low the fish are really in danger if some vermin or monster birds come along. We forgot to tell you that Koi Huskee Boy & Koi Asta NY were attacked earlier this week by the mini-monster bird! Huskee Boy has a small hole in the top of his head & Asta NY has a long scrape on the top of her head. They will both heal ok, but this really made Mama mad. Mother Nature sure can be cruel sometimes. Why don't those mean monster birds just stick to the fish that are in the river?? The river is right at the end of our road, not very far away. Our First Day With Our Hoomans!

Hey Pals,
Princess Snowball tagged us to share our first day home with our hoomans. Since I Butchy was rescued, I'll let Snickers goes first because Mama & Papa bought her as a wee little pup.

I Snickers was purchased in Indianola, Iowa. My wirey parents were Stormy & Snicker's. I had 4 little brodders & NO sistas. Mama & Papa drove a long way to come look at me to see if they wanted to buy me & take me home. ( Mama told me that she wanted me without even seeing me, hehehe. ) Mama & Papa were surprised to see that my wirey parents were on the larger size, but they were so very cute. Since Mama & Papa couldn't come to see me til in the evening, by the time we got to my new home it was very very late at night. So we just went to sleep, no pictures.

The next day they got some pictures of me. Here I am with Papa holding me:

Then they took me over to Papa's Aunt Janice & Uncle Ronnie's house which is only 2 houses down from us. Here Aunt Janice is holding me:

After all of the hugs & kissies we went home so I could take a nappy poo. So that was my pictures for the first actual day home. Now it's Butchy's turn.

I Butchy was 3 1/2 years old when Mama & Papa rescued me so they don't have any of my little puppy pictures. I did live in St. Loulis, MO so my previous owners met Mama & Papa half way in between St. Loulis & Janesville, IA. We met at a big park so Snickers & I could romp & play and get to know each other. Then we had a long ride back home. It was late when we arrived home so no pictures, and Mama didn't even get pictures the next day. She finally took pictures the day after that. So here they are:

Snickers: Oh my dawgness, here comes Gussie in the Gussiemobile!!! Yippee-ki-yeah! We're goin' to a pawty!! I sure hope he likes my Saloon Girl dress.

And girls, yes I really am wearing fishnet stockings & a garter too, hehehehehe! Mama made this just for the pawty. I don't even mind wearing the stockings. So if any girls ever want this costume made for them, just let Mama know at Snitchybug Dog Designs.

Butchy: Hey Pals, we can hardly wait to arrive at Bailey & Asta's birfday pawty. It's going to be a dog gone good time! Maybe Asta will square dance with me, tee hee!

YOU'RE INVITED TO BUTCHY'S BIRFDAY CAMPOUT

Butchy here, I told Mama she better hurry up & let me invite all of my pals to my birfday bash campout. Here's the invitation:
It's a stay overnight pawty & Mama & Papa will be here to watch over us. The girls can sleep in the Fish Shack:

Yes, Mama hunts deer with her black powder gun! We can also have wagon rides too:
If anyone has a tent they want to sleep in they can bring that also. We have a fire pit so we can sit around & tell scawwwwieee stories at night. Maybe we'll even see the deer, raccoons & coyotes, oh my! We'll post more details later this week. So mark your calendars!

Guess what pals? Remember cute Snowball posted about the pretty pink package she mailed to me for my birfday back in July?? Well it never arrived so we thought that the mean mail people stole the package. Well pull my wirey hairs out, guess what showed up 2 months & 1 day after it was mailed??? Yep, the pretty package! I couldn't believe my eyes when Mama pulled it out of the mailbox. So here are pictures with me & my nice prezzies from Snowball:

LOLA'S DISCO PAWTY TONIGHT!

We can hardly wait for the pawty to start. We were waiting around here all day while Mama & Papa worked on the ponds. We found about 12 koi in the smallest pond & gave 4 to our Aunt & Uncle that also have a pond. Mama has 3 picked out to name so we'll post those tomorrow with the names. HE'S ALIVE, HE'S ALIVE!!!

Hey Pals,
He's Alive!!! Yes, Koi Stanley is alive. He survived the Monster Bird attacks. We thought Koi Stanley was a gonner because we haven't seen him since the Green Heron & Kingfisher attacks a few weeks ago. But today we saw him 3 times. The first time Mama thought she was just seeing things cause the fishies swim so fast at feeding time. But then she saw him 2 more times & knows for a fact that it is Koi Stanley!!! But we still haven't see Koi Simba or Koi Jaffe Boy. We will know for sure in about 2 weeks when we change the pond water & repot plants.

Mama thinks Koi Ice T weighs about 4-5 lbs. now. She is almost 4 years old & almost 20 inches long.

Home from Chilli's Pawty!

Hey Pals,
We sure had a blast at Chilli's Adoption Day beach pawty. It was awesome! But now we're tired out from the jet lag. Above is Snickers as she was guarding the koi fishies yesterday. We just bummed around the yard while Papa hauled firewood into the garage all afternoon. BORING!

Today we're just being lounge lizards as you can see below:
I Butchy was so comfy laying by Snickers, then she decided to beg for kissies so I figured I better kiss her if I want her to wrestle with me later, hehehehe.
Here is one of our hummingbirds, it's a female. She was begging for Mama to fill the feeders this morning. We have 4 large feeders & we have to fill them at least every 2 days.
They get impatient waiting for their water & keep watching Mama through the kitchen window. They'll even fly right up next to the glass & just stare at her, they are crazy!
In just a few weeks they will leave us to fly south for the winter. Mama always can tell when they are leaving because a few days before they leave, they really hog down the water. They bulk up on the sugar for their flight. So every doggie fill your hummer feeders, the hummers will be on their way past you soon!

WUBBA LOVERS ALERT

We know lots of our pals just love their Wubba toys so we thought we would pass on what we found out today. Wubba toys are ONLY A SUMMER SEASON TOY at the pet stores. Yep, that's what they told Mama at the pet stores today. Some stores don't even carry them now & some have only a few left on clearance. So if you're still wanting a Wubba, hurry & check the sites on the web for one & order it right away! Otherwise you won't get your Wubba fix, hehehehehe! It could be a very long winter here without a wubba toy. In fact, we have freeze warnings here in Iowa for tonight. It's barely Fall & we're having freezing weather already?? Our poor Koi Fish are going to freeze their little tails off tonight. Their water is getting very cold now & they are starting to move much slower. Mama thinks in 3-4 weeks the koi will be hiding at the bottom of the ponds for their winter slumber. Bummer, then we won't see them again until March or April. Brrrrrr, talking about this freezing stuff is making us cold. Guess we better go put on our warm jammies. It's a good thing Chilli's pawty is in sunny Singapore, we'll be able to warm up there.

Yummy Roast Beef

It got cold here last night and we're supposed to get a frost tonight too. So guess what? Since it was cold today Mama told us she would make something in the hot oven to warm up the house. We could smell it cooking all afternoon & kept drooling & licking our chops. Mmmmm, yummy roast beef:

My sweetie Gus Dagger sent me this bootiful pink heart & shell on a cool lobster clasp that holds my name tag. Isn't it awesome? Mama really likes the clasp since she can move it from collar to collar so easily. I'm wearing my cool collar that I received from Huskee Boy in the photo. And speaking of collars, Mama WON me a hot pink rhinestone collar!!!! I can hardly wait to get it. I'll be sure to model it when it arrives next week. Hmmmm, I think it's time to take a nap. Sleep good every doggie, GG & Moosie.
