Another PREZZIE & Snickers is silly!!

Hey Pals,

How was your weekend?? Well we got another prezzie in the mail & it was from Gomer & Opie!
The mail lady even came up to the door to hand deliver our package to Papa. Snickers & I flipped a biscuit to see who gets to open the package & Snickers won:

Now to open this baggie thing, wow, these are giant rawhides!!!
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, I've got to get one of these out!
Move away Snickers, it's my turn now. (I'm surprised Snickers left one for me, hehehehe!)
These are giant rawhides! and they even have a meat filling.
I'm going to eat mine in my kennel. Mama taught us that we eat our goodies there. That way we don't get gooey stuff on the floor.

Since Sunday our weather has turned nasty cold again! It has been -19 degrees and a few snow flurries. Tomorrow is supposed to be even colder. Such a bummer. Then Mama had to ruin our day yesterday. Can you believe she gave us both a bath??? Here is Snickers, she looks like a poofy poodle! Mama gave me Butchy a haircut on Saturday, but didn't do Snickers yet.

Snickers: Butchy, don't make fun of my hair. At least I have lush wirey hair that the boy doggies just love, hehehehehe!

Snickersize Class Last Night

Hey Pals,
Snickers here today. Boy did we have fun at Snickersize class last night. (We have to apologize in advance cause Mama couldn't have the membership cards ready due to getting our new computer. Her stupid program won't load onto the new computer and so we couldn't get the cards done and couldn't have some of our pics ready from class last night. Such a bummer. Hope to have things working by next class though.) We only had one member that couldn't attend and we had 2 new members, Huskee Boy & Herbie! Glad you joined boys!

We have no clue how he was able to stuff that into the FuFumobile with all of the doggies he brought along, tee hee! Such a clever Hamsterrier!

MOUSIE UPDATE: (don't listen FuFu) Mama saw a 4th mousie this morning. She heard something in da garbage can downstairs and yup, it was a mouse. She tried to close the bag quick, but he jumped right out and ran across the room. Don't worry though, Mama will get him with that peanut butter!

Mousies & Bunnies & Bambi Oh My! & PREZZIE!

Hey Pals,
Ding dong the mice are dead, mice are dead, mice are dead.
Ding dong the stinky mice are dead! hehehehehe!
Mama checked her traps late last night and guess what??? She caught 2 mousies. So then she set the traps again this morning before she went to the grocery store. When she got back, she checked the traps and one had gone off again and the peanut butter was stolen! That can only mean one thing, MORE MOUSIES!!! Boy, we hope there aren't too many more, it's taking a toll on our peanut butter supply ya know??

Late this afternoon, Mama was taking us out the back door and she caught a glimpse of that darn bunny wabbit. He hopped as fast as he could and went under the deck. He must have heard us coming and figured he better get his fuzzy white tail out of there.

When Mama came home from the grocery store, she told us we had a prezzie come in da mail for us, Butchy & Snickers. Wow, for us??

It's a note and box from Huskee. He went shopping with his Mama and found something for us:

This evening we finally had some deer come into the yard while it was still barely light enough to take some pictures. Here is a buck, can you see his antlers??

The deer are getting very hungry now with all of the snow cover on the ground. They were munching on our pine trees. Mama wasn't too happy about that. We hope the snow melts soon so that the deer don't destroy all of our bushes & trees. We feel bad when they don't have much to eat.
Uh oh, we better go for now, Snickersizing class starts soon and Mama has to get things ready for us.

BUNNY ALERT!

Hey Pals,
Well our mousie hunt didn't turn up any of those darn vermin, rats! hehe! Mama thinks she smells a dead mouse under the basement stairs though. Papa has all kinds of things packed under the stairs so Mama is going to make him pull all of the stuff out this weekend and see if there are any dead mousies in there. Mama says she'll catch those dirty rats! She set some traps and baited them with our favorite, PEANUT BUTTER! Yummy. No mouse could resist that. Mama has always used peanut butter to bait mousie traps.

Seems like the vermin keep popping up everywhere lately. Now we have a bunny wabbit living under the sunroom addition. Inspector Butcho even has evidence of this:

Here is evidence that he has been chewing the branches off of Mama's burning bush and she is not happy at all! Hey Sunshade, Georgie didn't run away did he??? The bunny trwaks are awfully big for wild wabbits. We keep watching to catch the wabbit in action, but no go. He is always hiding under the addition. Since we've gotten all of this snow, the bambi deer don't even come out during the day now. They only come out into the yard at night and only a few of them. We think the rest are hiding in the woods to stay warm. There are deer tracks all over the yard though. We like to follow their trails cause we know there will be deer doo doo! But darn Mama never lets us eat it. Guess we'll just have to send it to Sunshade for her to use in her famous peefume she is going to be making. Maybe she can put some on STINKY so he isn't so stinky! hoink, hoink, hoink, hoink! Snickers is laughing so hard she is snorting like a little piggy!
Uh oh, Mama says she needs the puter again. She's been doing her income tax stuff lately and hogging the puter.
Oooooh, we almost forgot, Snickers is having her SNICKERSIZE class tomorrow night. Hope everyone that signed up can attend.

SHIRO IS HOME!!!

SHIRO IS HOME!!!

Shiro has been found!!! My former karate instructor, whom I phoned the night Shiro went missing just in case he happened to see him, spotted Shiro and kept him occupied with some bologna (yes, the way to Shiro's heart is food sometimes) until my Mom could drive over and pick him up. Reports from my family indicate that Shiro is doing just fine- he is not shaking like he's cold, he's not acting like he's hungry, he's not even dirtier than usual. Upon returning home, Akira and Shiro were excited to be reuninted, Shiro drank some water, then hopped up to his favorite resting spot on the couch to take a well-deserved nap! I wonder what he's been up to since Saturday night? I'm sure glad he's back, though, and looking forward to seeing him with my own eyes this weekend.

URGENT!!!

Shiro is missing. He got loose probably around 9 P.M. EST from my family's home in Calcutta/East Liverpool, Ohio. He is a small cream-colored fixed male Shiba Inu. Please spread the word to anyone in the Ohio area. It is possible he could have gotten all the way to the Pennsylvania line, but not likely. He does not like to be touched around the neck, and he will bite. If he is seen, it is best to try to bribe him with food. Cheese is his favorite. Anyone in the area, please keep your eyes open. Everyone else, please send your thoughts and prayers for Shiro. It is very cold out there tonight. I was there yesterday and this morning, but I am back in Pittsburgh, PA right now and feel so helpless. I will keep you posted.

RIP

Hey Pals,
We can finally post again. Our old computer kept trying to crash on us so Mama said it was ready for the cyber graveyard, hehehehe! We told Mama we could pay her with doggie kibble to buy us a new one. We had to do lots & lots of begging to get Mama to buy one and besides that, the roads weren't so good for driving. We were getting some more snow and the roads were icy. The wind was howling and blowing snow across the roads making them even worse. We finally talked Mama into going to town to buy us a brand new computer. Mama figured she better get us one so we wouldn't be so bored. See below, we were so bored cause we couldn't post and there was nothing else to do.
We told Mama we missed commenting on all of our pals blogs too! So she felt sorry for us, tee hee! It worked. The bad thing is we haven't even taken many pictures lately. So we don't have any to really post. We have to get Mama busy again.

The good news is that we have a job for Inspector Butcho! Where are you Inspector???

Here I am!!! What's up? Mousie? Did you say you have mousie trouble???
Yep, Mama says we have a mouse in the basement somewhere and she thinks it came in when Papa brought some big boxes into the basement from the garage. We even have some evidence, see:

Icky mouse droppings. Mama was not a happy camper to find those. We never have mice in the house. Mama says when Papa gets home tonight we are having a mouse hunting party. Mama & Snickers on one side of the basement, Papa & me Butchy on the other side. Then if we don't catch it, Papa will have to set some traps. We wanted to go hunting right now, but Mama says we have to wait for Papa to be here so that if we catch the mousie, he can take it out of our mouth. (the only bad part to catching one, you have to bare the wrath of Mama & the toothbrush, hehehehehe!)

We're supposed to get some more snow tomorrow, yippee! Hey Army of Four, why don't you come visit us, we have lots of snow for you, tee hee! Guess we better go try to read all of the blogs we've missed out on lately. See you there!

IT'S SNOWING!!!

Hey Pals,
What are those tiny white things dropping down from the sky??? Oh yeah, it's been so long since we've seen them, it's SNOW!!! It finally started snowing yesterday morning very early. We were all excited hoping we'll get just enough to play in. We kept making Mama & Papa take us outside so we could check the snow progress. Here is Papa & Snickers checking on the snow progress:


Then Snickers & I had to start playing. Snickers likes to run around Papa in circles like a mad woman and then she tries to lunge at me playing. We usually will do this for an hour if Mama & Papa let us. It makes Mama dizzy, hehehehe.

Here are some Purple Finch birdies that Mama feeds outside. We get hundreds of them year round.


We ended up with a few inches of snow and it is bitterly cold, brrrrhhhhhhh! It was 19 below zero with the windchill factor. Hopefully it will warm up a little bit. It's so cold that the snow is very dry & fluffy. We can't even make a snowball or snowman with it, bummer.

Our cousin Mitzi the Shih Tzu got sick this weekend. She had 3 seizures. They were very mild so she was not put on medication yet. They are checking out her blood and then going to wait and see if she has any more seizures soon. The seizures are lasting about 20 minutes each. The vet said that if they last over 30 minutes to rush her to the vet right away. If she starts having too many of them, she will be put on long term medication. We hope she doesn't get anymore. Poor girl.

WE'RE FREEZING!!!!!

Hey Pals,

Well we're back into the freeze zone here in Iowa. We don't like it when it's this cold. Mama started up the fireplace today to keep us warm and cozy.

We thought we would list some tips on how to keep your dog healthy in cold weather.

Don't leave your dogs outside when the temperature drops. Most dogs are safer indoors, except when taken out for exercise. Shorthaired, very young, or old dogs should not be left outside without their hoomans watching them. For dogs with shorthair coats, put a sweater or coat on them to help keep them warmer.

When the windchill temperatures are very cold, it can threaten a dog's life. Most dogs will be happier when kept indoors. If you have an outdoor dog, he/she should be protected by a dry, draft-free doghouse that is large enough to allow the dog to sit and lie down comfortably, but small enough to hold in his/her body heat. The floor should be raised a few inches off of the ground. The opening to the dog house should be turned to face away from the wind.

Dogs who spend a lot of time outdoors need more food in the winter because keeping warm depletes energy. You must check your dog's water dish several times per day to make sure the water is unfrozen. Make sure you give your dog fresh water EVERYDAY! Use plastic food and water bowls rather than metal; when the temperature is low, your dog's tongue can stick and freeze to metal.

Salt and other chemicals used to melt snow and ice can irritate the pads of your dog's feet. Make sure you wipe their feet with a damp towel before your dog licks them and irritates his/her mouth. We know some people use pet safe ice melt products, but when you walk your dog on sidewalks, streets, etc., you don't know what chemicals were used on the surfaces. So it's best to clean your dog's feet when you come in from a walk.

Dogs are social animals who crave human companionship. Your dogs deserve to live indoors with you and your family. Would you want to live outdoors in the cold?????

Well I finally got MY raincoat. I don't know why Mama made Snickers' coat first and mine last, geez.....

I feel like a dog detective wearing this coat, except for the hood thingy. Yeah, that's it, Inspector Buutcho! I can wear it whenever I check out the doo doo in the yard from all of the critters that come around. Then I can follow their scent and track them down, just like a bloodhound! Of course I'll have to let Snickers be my sidekick and let her catch the nasty vermin with me, hehehehe. (Mama says I'm nuts!, but I don't have them anymore, tee hee!)
Well we were tagged & with Mama being sick, we forgot all about it. Mama doesn't make resolutions, she says that way if you don't do them, you don't feel bad. So we have to come up with ours on our own so here goes:

1. Beg for more treats!
2. Do more tricks for more treats!
3. Pose for Mama & the camera more for even more treats!
4. Guard Mama's fish better from those mean Great Blue Herons for lots & lots of treats!
5. Last but not least, just sit there looking CUTE for more treats, hehehehehehe!

Which reminds us, it's time to go beg to go potty & then beg for more treats! Nitey Night!

We're Back!

Hey Pals,
Mama is starting to feel better so she said we could use the computer tonight, yippee! Now if blogger would just behave so we can get our pictures to work, sigh.....

Well we haven't been doing too much since Mama got sick on New Year's Eve. She has that stupid Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis and they both flared up due to the snow that came that night. When the weather change makes the barometric air pressure drop, boy does she get sick. Then she got one of those darn migraine headaches on top of it all. She does have some really expensive pills that get rid of the migraine pain, but then they make her bomb out for days and nothing gets rid of the flare up pains of her other problems. She is so sick of being sick! We try to make her feel better, but it doesn't help much. Mackie's Mama has Fibromyalgia too so Mackie knows what it's like to have a Mama that doesn't feel good. Sometime we'll post about Fibromyalgia. Most people have never even heard of it.

Before New Year's Eve, Mama did get my new raincoat done. It's HOT PINK! Here are some pictures of it:

Butchy was mad cause he wasn't getting his picture taken with a raincoat. Mama hasn't made his yet. It's going to be hunter green. So I told Butchy he could have his picture taken with me, see:
He's such a spoiled boy. Oh, I almost forgot, my raincoat is Style # 2. The raincoat that Mama made for Boo is Style # 1. So if any doggies would like to buy a custom raincoat, just send us an email.

It's a good thing I have my raincoat cause it's been spitting rain a lot lately. Then when we were on one of our walkies around the acreage, a big Eagle flew right above us and Mama was worried it was going to drop some doo doo on us, eeewwwwwhhhh! That would have been really gross, but at least I would have been covered and Butchy wouldn't have, hehehehehe! Guess it's time to go potty one more time for the night and get to bed. We'll try to catch up on all of your blogs in the next few days.
