We have to admit, it's not as bad as having Mama use those nasty nail clippers on us and by using the grinder she can get our nails shorter too. We usually sit pretty still for her, but sometimes we're just not in the mood for that thing and try to get away. But Mama has her grip on us and there is no escaping her, hehehe.

All day yesterday the weather man on tv kept telling us we had a winter storm warning. We were going to get sleet & SNOW!!! But as usual, they were wrong again! We didn't get any sleet which is ok with us, (Mama doesn't like to drive on ice) and we got ZERO SNOW! Nodda, nottin, not one snowflake. We were looking forward to burying our faces in the fluffy white stuff today and dragging snowballs all over the house that fall off of our fur so that Mama has to clean the floors, hehehehe. We wonder if we'll be having a white Christmas this year or not??
It certainly is freezing cold here today. It's only 4 degrees with the windchill factor and that's even with the sun shining. No wonder Mama has the fireplace going. It's nice & toasty in the house here, 78 degrees, just right for napping! That sounds like a good idea. Think we'll take a nap before supper time.

Sad Day for Doggie Pals

Hey Pals,
This has been such a sad day for us doggies. First our newest pal Miss Daisie Duke passed away sadly from kidney failure. Then our wire fox terrier pal Bamboozle passed over to the rainbow bridge due to old age heart & kidney failures. His Mama is in the yahoo wire fox terrier group that our Mama belongs to. Both pals left behind little dog brothers & sisters. So please cross your paws and say a little prayer for all of them tonight!

We did actually finish our Christmas Cards for the DWB exchange late last night. We had Mama mail them all out today, whew, it took us a long time. Our paws got tired from stuffing envelopes and sticking on labels. At least our tongues didn't get wore out like Boo's did. Mama had stick on stamps and a glue stick to seal the envelopes, hehehe. Now we just need to sit by our mailbox and wait for our pawmail to arrive, hehehe!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving holiday, so remember to beg your hoomans for some turkey meat and to thank them for loving you! We won't get any until Friday cause Mama & Papa are going to relatives house tomorrow for their meal. Mama is going to cook a turkey for us on Friday. We can hardly wait. She puts it on this stick thingy and into a machine that spins the turkey round & round, juices running out everywhere, hehehe. We can smell it now!
Then Papa had this stupid idea to have Mama make us a costume for Thanksgiving. So here we are as Indians:

Well the secret can be spilled now. It's not a happy ending though, bummer. Our dear Buster was so excited that he was going to have a new wirey sister yesterday. Yep, the little girl wire in the picture. Seems the owners did not tell the whole story about this girl and she has some issues that need to be worked on. She won't be staying with Buster. Poor guy, she was picking on him so badly. We hope your eye quits bleeding pal! We just hope this little girl can find a home and get the help she needs to overcome her problems. Take care Buster!!

Well it's time for me to go walk the treadmill. I walk 40 minutes each night now. Mama & Papa are so proud of me. They sure wish they could get lazy Butchy to walk on it, tee hee!

WILD TURKEYS!

Hey Pals,
What's up?? Well our snow is all gone for now. We're supposed to get some rain and snow showers starting tomorrow, but it will be warm enough to melt the snow right away. Too bad we don't have deep snow so that we can bury down into it, hehehe! We like to do that, but Mama doesn't like us to. We get covered with little snowballs all over our fur. Then of course we drip water all over the house as the snowballs melt.

Since Thanksgiving is coming up next week, we thought we would show you an old video of the Wild Turkeys that were in our yard one day. It's a little fuzzy, but you can tell they are turkeys. Sometimes the turkeys will come in the yard everyday at the same time and other times we don't see them for months.

The turkeys around here usually weigh from 24-28 lbs. each. Here's another picture:
We haven't seen the turkeys now for 4-5 days so we think they are in hiding since they probably know that Thanksgiving is coming up, tee hee! Turkey meat is yummy!!

For you doggies out there that are the fashion pups and like to wear clothes, Mama now makes Raincoats for doggies. You can request special sizes, styles & colors. Here is a sample of one style:
This one has a hole in it for use with a body harness. You can also have them with a hole for just a leash up by the neck area. So just email us if you are ever interested.

Rain & Sleet & Snow OH MY!

Hey Pals,
Snickers here today. Just look at what happened to our yard today. First we had rain pouring down, then it turned to hail, then sleet then snow! Here we have been having 70 degree weather and it turns to this overnight. What a bunch of doo doo! The pine tree in the first picture is one of many behind the house. The 2 below pictures are from just 2 days ago with the sun shining. These are the trunks of some of our younger pine trees that those darn buck deer have been wrecking!



See, they have fuzzy brown velvet on their racks right now and it itches them. So they get the velvet off by rubbing their racks against tree trunks. They also tear off really big branches too. Makes Mama & Papa mad when they do this. They have the whole woods behind us to do this in and they have to pick the trees in our yard. Buck deer get new racks and velvet each year. In the last few months the velvet has started to die & it actually bleeds too. It then itches so it drives the deer crazy. The deer are just now starting to begin their mating season. By Christmas there should be lots of pregnant doe deer. Then by the end of May, more baby bambi being born, hehehe!

Well, the surprise Mama had for me didn't happen like it was supposed to. Mama was mad. See I apparently was one of the winners in a Halloween Photo Contest that she entered my Halloween picture in. I won some doggie clothes!!! Anyways, they were supposed to post the winners pictures TODAY on the website, but NO pictures of any winners. Such a bummer. We wanted to see all of the cute winners in their costumes. If they ever post them we'll post the link for all of you.

Seems lots of our doggie pals have been getting new boyfriends and even marriage proposals. Sunset & Chocolate Paws!

Hey Pals,
Mama took this picture last night of the neat sunset. It's not too often that the sunsets have those many colors at one time. So she thought she better snap a picture.
The other day Mama's sister and our niece came over with a package for Mama. Guess what it was?? CHOCOLATE PAWS See the box:


We wondered how someone gets chocolate paws. Are they from chocolate labs?? Where do they come from?? Then before we knew it, Mama & Papa were eating them, Yikes!!!

Mama finally told us that they are candy and they have caramel on the insides. We were patiently waiting for our share, but we didn't get any, sigh.....

Snickers here, I wanted to thank all of the boys that applied to be my alternate boyfriend, hehehehe! See Butchy is my boyfriend, but not all of the time. Sometimes he totally ignores me. Especially when he is watching tv holding the remote control. Here is the proof:

He can be lots of fun at times and we love to wrestle and run around like wild nuts, but then other times he is such a sleepy head. He won't even exercise with me, can you believe that?? I just love walking on the treadmill. I can even do it now without a leash on. The other night I walked on it for 40 minutes straight. This way by building up my walking skills I can beg Mama for longer walks outside on our acreage. (I can actually out walk Mama, tee hee) Oouu, Mama told me she will have a surprise for me on this Friday and she said I can tell everyone here then. I can harldy wait, I wonder what it is?? Guess I better go beg Mama to walkie again!

Turkey Day Is Near!

Hey Pals,
Wow, we think we have finally recovered now from Charlie & Opy's pawty. We were pretty darn tuckered out for a while. Now that the Halloween pawties are all over, it's time to think about T-Day! Yep, Turkey Day. It's a good thing Mama has something new to think about cause she is all bummed out we didn't win anything in one of the contests she entered our photos in. This contest even had part of the prize be a donation to our favorite rescue organization. Snickers did win Honorable Mention so that's good. We are still in 3 other photo contests that haven't ended yet. So maybe we'll win something yet. Papa thinks Mama should make us costumes for Thanksgiving & Christmas but she doesn't know if she has time to do this. She for sure will do something for a Christmas outfit. Mama did find something neat to order. She found 2 books from Japan that have doggie outfit patterns in them and are they cool! So she ordered them. She can't wait to get them and make some of the outfits.

We get to have Papa home with us some extra days. He is using up some vacation time these next 2 weeks. Too bad it's so cold & windy outside, we don't even like to take long walks out there with him. As soon as we do our business, we want to high tail it back to the warm house where the fireplace is roaring, hehehe. We do have some pretty pictures of our Burning Bushes that still have their leaves in tact. One picture is above and the other below. Also is a picture of some oak trees.
